摘要: A method of forming a part includes: inserting a blank into a die, the die comprising a mold mounted above a sealing counterpart; clamping the blank between the mold and the sealing counterpart; applying first pressure on the blank from the sealing counterpart so the blank is pressed upward to form a shaped part corresponding to the mold; applying a vacuum to the shaped part to hold it against the mold also after separating the mold and the sealing counterpart, the vacuum applied through at least one opening in the mold located in a corner of the mold that the blank does not reach when the first pressure is applied; and discontinuing the vacuum to allow the shaped part to be released from the mold.

The carrier pipe is produced from a non-corrosion resistant steel, which has at least a partially austenitic structure, with the following chemical composition (in wt. %): C: 0.005 to 1.4; Mn: 5 to 35; the remainder being iron including unavoidable elements accompanying steel, with the optional alloying of the following elements (in wt. %): Ni: 0 to 6; Cr: 0 to 9; Al: 0 to 15; Si: 0 to 8; Mo: 0 to 3; Cu: 0 to 4; V: 0 to 2; Nb: 0 to 2; Ti: 0 to 2; Sb: 0 to 0.5; B: 0 to 0.5; Co: 0 to 5; W: 0 to 3; Zr: 0 to 4; Ca: 0 to 0.1; P: to 0.6; S: 0 to 0.2; N: 0.002 to 0.3. In a method for producing a composite pipe of this type, the carrier pipe and the at least one protective pipe are mechanically or metallurgically connected to one another.

摘要: A hot forming by gas and direct quenching method and apparatus are disclosed. One method of using the system includes a heating step, a forming step, and a direct quenching step. This method increases the quenching speed and allows common steels with high critical cooling rate to be hot formed and quenched. This method reduces or eliminates the need for a furnace and/or the coating of the workpiece prior to the forming, as well as the removal of the coating after the forming. Furthermore, by using a hot gas containing carbon or nitrogen, the workpiece may be case hardened after the heating, forming and quenching steps.

摘要: Hydroforming into a hollow structural component by pressing a joined plate member outwardly. A largest width is set to an area of a blank portion of the joined plate member extending to between outer peripheral portions of the recessed spaces from a longest constant portion of an internal space formed by the recessed spaces, the longest constant portion being constant in its inner circumferential length and extending the longest in the internal space. A width of an area of the blank portion extending to between the outer peripheral portions from a portion shorter than the longest constant portion is set such that the smaller the length of the portion which is shorter than the longest constant portion is compared to the longest constant portion. The smaller the width of the area extending from the shorter portion is compared to the width of the area extending from the longest constant portion.

摘要: An apparatus for forming a part is provided, which includes a die. The die includes a round orifice, a central mandrel disposed within the round orifice, and a plurality of bridges and a corresponding plurality of portholes between the bridges. The bridges and the portholes extending around the central mandrel. A spacing of the bridges around the mandrel is non-equiangular. The die allows a material to be extruded through the die to form a round, closed geometry tube from the material such that the round, closed geometry tube has non-equiangular welds after emerging from the die.

摘要: A punch (2) and a pad (5) are opposed to each other such that a molded portion (3a) of a metal laminate film (3) to be processed is interposed between the punch (2) and the pad (5). An enclosed space (6, 7) is compressed to raise only the temperature of the molded portion (3a) while keeping the vicinity of the molded portion (3a) at a low temperature (S1, S2). After that, the enclosed space (6, 7) is moved with respect to the molded portion (3a) to perform first molding (S3) on the molded portion (3a), and then gas in the enclosed space (6) is released to perform second molding (S4) on the molded portion (3a) by means of the punch (2) and the pad (5).
