    摘要: A water injection system (WIS) for diesel engines that reduces NOx, PM and CO2 emissions is provided. Water is injected into the combustion air stream before cylinders in a predetermined proportion to fuel. The present invention utilizes a special water purification element, an oscillating pump, an electronic means to control both water flow and the size of water droplets, a means to prevent water from freezing in cold ambient temperatures, a plurality of special sensors to control water flow in response to rapid load variation, and a means for automatically switching between on and off operations.

In one possible embodiment, compression is increased by firing a spring-loaded ignition piston positioned adjacent to the cylinder at the desired time. In another possible embodiment, compression is increased by generating a sound wave at the desired time.

The control unit injects the fuel to be injected in an early stage in a plurality of stages according to the operation state of the engine and individually adjusts the injection pressures of their respective stages according to the gas density and the gas temperature in the corresponding cylinder.

    摘要: Method and system embody a valve timing strategy to control the autoignition timing of a four stroke internal combustion engine (10) operated in an HCCI mode at different engine operating conditions such as different engine speed and torque. A particular valve timing strategy varies lift timing of the intake valve (20) relative to the exhaust valve (28), or vice versa, and relative to top dead center in response to a change in engine torque, for example, to vary amount of trapped residual burned gas in the combustion chamber (12) flowing to an intake or exhaust port (16,18) and back to the combustion chamber during which the residual gas is cooled. Control of the flow of residual gas between the combustion chamber and intake or exhaust port and thus its temperature by the valve timing strategy, in turn, is used to control the temperature of the fresh air/residual gas/fuel mixture in the combustion chamber (12) and thus autoignition timing in response to a change in engine torque.

    摘要: An engine is operated in accordance with a plurality of operation modes obtained by combining one of a 4-cycle mode and a 2-cycle mode with one of a combustion ignition control where an ignition is performed with an ignition unit and a self ignition priority control including the ignition performed without the ignition unit. Upon switching of the operation mode, a transition cycle is performed once between a first operation mode before switching of the operation mode and a second operation mode after switching of the operation mode. Timing for operating an intake valve or an exhaust valve in the transition cycle is different from that in the second operation mode. The combustion ignition control is executed in one of the combustion chambers where the single operation of the transition cycle is completed until a single cycle of each transient cycle in the rest of the combustion chambers is terminated.
