摘要: Systems and methods are provided for checking many users in to a location using a Bluetooth® low energy (BLE) beacon. The provided systems and methods may allow a BLE beacon to facilitate a check in with a remote server that processes check ins and then disconnect from the device used to check in. The device may be assigned a unique identifier that may be broadcast from the device during the check in so that the BLE beacon can quickly scan for the identifier and connect with the device based on the identifier to provide content and other information to the device.

摘要: Techniques are discussed herein for providing notification messages to a user are provided. An example method of sending an alert message includes receiving a notification from an alerting device, determining a notification recipient associated with the alerting device, determining a location and one or more notification preferences associated with the notification recipient, determining a notification device based on the location and the one or more notification preferences, and sending the alert message to the notification device, wherein the alert message includes an indication of at least one notification preference and the alerting device.

摘要: In a method for changing a user's bank account information in merchant account databases a server receives a login request including a user identification and first user authentication information. The server further receives a request to change bank account information from a first bank account to a second bank account for merchant accounts of the user and network login information for the first bank account. The server accesses an account information database for the first bank account and downloads transaction information for merchant transactions involving the first bank account. The server identifies a set of merchant user accounts involved in the merchant transactions and receives account login information for a data site associated with a selected account. The server accesses the data site and changes a bank account identification stored therein from the first bank account to the second bank account.

摘要: A system and method for dynamically adjusting attributes for a network service is described. A computing system can determine a change that is to be implemented to an attribute of the network service. For each of a plurality of computing devices, the computing system can receive information associated with that computing device from a designated application operating on that computing device. The designated application is associated with the network service. The computing system automatically implements the change to at least one but not all of the plurality of computing devices based on the information received from each of the plurality of computing devices.

摘要: An information processing apparatus includes a receiving unit, a determining unit, and a transmission controller. The receiving unit receives a notification to inquire about a state of a user of the information processing apparatus, which is portable, from a different information processing apparatus. If the notification is received by the receiving unit, the determining unit determines whether communication from the other information processing apparatus is acceptable in the state of the user. If the determination unit determines that the communication from the other information processing apparatus is not acceptable in the state of the user, the transmission controller controls transmission so as not to transmit the state of the user.

摘要: A computing system that provides virtual computing services may generate and manage remote computing sessions between client computing devices and virtual desktop instances hosted on the service provider's network. A computing resource instance manager may monitor connections to and disconnections from a virtual desktop instance during particular time periods, and may apply a resource management policy to determine whether and when to shut down an underlying virtualized computing resource instance following a disconnection (e.g., immediately, after some period of time, or only between certain hours). A storage volume for the virtual desktop instance may be detached during a shutdown. In response to a reconnection request, the virtualized computing resource instance (or another such instance) may be restarted and the storage volume may be reattached. The computing resource instance manager may develop a model for predicting when to shut down or restart an instance based on historical data or machine learning.

摘要: Systems and methods are provided for reducing communications between servers and a mobile device and providing enhanced security and privacy to wireless beacon services. This can involve a broadcast device transmitting a beacon transmission using a short range wireless radio, such a Bluetooth or WiFi, and including a MAC address, a first unique identifier, and a beacon service identifier. The mobile device then selects one or more unique identifiers from received beacon transmissions, by filtering (that is, selecting) those beacon transmissions which include the beacon service identifier. The wireless device then takes further action, if the first unique identifier is present among the selected one or more unique identifiers, using stored information from the server. The stored information may be delivered to the wireless device in response to the wireless device sending the first unique identifier to a server, or the stored information may have been previously downloaded.

摘要: Techniques are described for providing location-based information and functionality to people and computing devices in various ways. In at least some situations, the techniques include enabling multiple people in a common geographic area to interact in various ways, such as via devices capable of communications (e.g., cellular telephones, computing devices with wired and/or wireless communications capabilities, etc.). In addition, the techniques include enabling the creation and maintenance of location-based virtual groups of users (also referred to as “clouds”), such as for users of mobile and/or fixed-location devices. Such clouds may enable various types of interactions between group members, and may be temporary and/or mobile.

摘要: A technique for distributing and acquiring information about network devices using the Domain Name System (DNS) is disclosed. Device information, such as configuration settings and system status, is exchanged bi-directionally between one or multiple DNS services and network nodes using the DNS protocol. The information exchanged is encoded as DNS records.
