Abstract: A battery is provided. The battery includes a housing, a jellyroll, a first current collector plate, a second current collector plate, an output terminal, and a cover board. A top wall of the housing is provided with a through hole, and a bottom of the housing is provided with an open end. A first tab and a second tab are provided on ends of the jellyroll respectively in an axial direction of the jellyroll. The first tab is connected to the first current collector plate, and the second tab is connected to the housing via the second current collector plate. The output terminal is sealed in the through hole and connected to the first current collector plate. The cover board is sealed and insulated at the open end of the bottom of the housing.

Abstract: An energy-storage apparatus and an electricity-consumption device are disclosed. The energy-storage apparatus includes a housing, an electrode assembly, an end cover assembly, and a first connector. The end cover assembly includes a top cover and a lower plastic assembly. The lower plastic assembly is disposed between the top cover and the electrode assembly. The top cover includes a first stimulus-response member. The lower plastic assembly includes a first-lower-plastic-member body having a first surface and a second surface, a first recess recessed from the second surface to the first surface, and a first vent hole defined in a recess bottom-wall of the first recess and penetrates through the recess bottom-wall and the first surface. A part of the first recess is blocked by the first connector, and the rest of the first recess exposed beyond the first connector forms a vent passage in communication with the first vent hole.

Abstract: A system for managing dehumidification in a battery pack having a plurality of battery modules includes a casing is adapted to house the plurality of battery modules. The casing has at least one cavity with a dehumidification unit being at least partially positioned within the cavity. The dehumidification unit includes a desiccant. A heating element is positioned in proximity to and adapted to selectively heat the desiccant. The system includes a control unit having a processor and tangible, non-transitory memory on which instructions are recorded. The control unit is adapted to control the heating element. The desiccant is adapted to collect moisture during a collection phase of dehumidification and the heating element is adapted to dry the desiccant during a reconditioning phase of the dehumidification.

Abstract: Battery monitoring systems and methods are provided. The battery monitoring system may include a battery module and battery management circuitry. The battery module comprises battery cells and a gas sensor configured to detect the presence of gas within the battery module. The battery management circuitry is configured to receive a sensor signal from the gas sensor, determine whether the sensor signal indicates the presence of gas within the battery module, and in response to determining that the sensor signal indicates the presence of gas, take an action. The action may include increasing cooling to the battery cells, limiting a maximum load that can be applied to the battery module, disconnecting the battery module, or providing a warning. The battery module may also include a component that was doped with a chemical that begins to off-gas above an activation temperature. The gas sensor may be configured to detect the chemical.

The battery pack includes a housing; and a plurality of cells, provided in the housing, wherein the sum V1 of the volumes of the plurality of cells and the volume V2 of the battery pack satisfy V1/V2≥55%. The battery pack has a first direction and a second direction perpendicular to each other. A length direction of the cell is arranged along the first direction of the battery pack, and the plurality of cells are arranged along the second direction of the battery pack. Abstract: Embodiments of the present application provide a case of a battery, a battery, a power consumption device, and a method and device for preparing a battery. The case includes: an electrical chamber configured to accommodate a plurality of battery cells and a bus component, where at least one battery cell of the plurality of battery cells includes a pressure relief mechanism; a thermal management component configured to accommodate a fluid to adjust temperatures of the plurality of battery cells; and a collection chamber configured to collect, when the pressure relief mechanism is actuated, emissions from the battery cell provided with the pressure relief mechanism; where the thermal management component is configured to isolate the electrical chamber from the collection chamber. According to the technical solutions of the embodiments of the present application, the safety of the battery can be enhanced.

Abstract: A battery module includes a first housing portion and a second housing portion defining a sealed volume. A plurality of electrochemical cells is provided in the volume, each of the plurality of electrochemical cells including a respective vent to enable a release of a gas into the volume when an internal pressure of the respective electrochemical cell reaches a threshold. A ventilation vent is coupled with the housing and in fluid communication with the volume. A burst vent is coupled with the housing and in fluid communication with the volume, the burst vent including a valve having a first valve portion and a second valve portion. The first and second valve portions enable a staged release of vented gases through the burst vent based on incremented thresholds.

Abstract: This application relates to a cover assembly of a secondary battery. The cover assembly includes a cover plate with an air hole; a blocker inserted into and blocking the air hole; a sealing member disposed between the blocker and the cover plate configured to seal a gap between the blocker and the cover plate; and a fastener disposed inside the air hole. The fastener is connected to the cover plate, the blocker is connected to the cover plate through the fastener. The fastener is configured to deform in response to a temperature rise, so that the blocker stops blocking the air hole. The blocker stops blocking the air hole as a temperature inside a housing rises, to discharge gas from the housing through the air hole. In this way, the secondary battery can be prevented from an explosion, while partial heat is taken away through gas discharge.
