Abstract: The invention relates to a polymerisable composition comprising
(i) 0 to 90% by weight of at least one inorganic filler component,
(ii) 5 to 99.98% by weight of at least one urethane (alkyl) acrylate of the idealised formula I,
(iii) 0.01 to 25% by weight of at least one di-, tri-, tetra- or multi-functional monomer, not being a urethane (alkyl) acrylate,
(iv) 0.01 to 10% by weight of at least one initiator, of an initiator system as well as optionally of at least one stabiliser and optionally of at least one pigment, the total composition of the composition amounting to 100% by weight, as well as a polymerised composition having improved fracture toughness.-

Abstract: Compositions including a combination of (meth)acryloyl-terminated monomers and oligomers prepared by co-reacting reactants having active hydrogen groups with an acrylating agent are disclosed. Polymerizates formed using the combinations of (meth)acryloyl-terminated monomers and oligomers exhibit a high hardness, excellent thermomechanical properties, and a high refractive index. The compositions can be used to fabricate optical components.

Abstract: A 3D printing system includes a reservoir for a UV-curable dielectric material in communication with a first nozzle configured to print the UV-curable dielectric material onto a substrate and a reservoir for a low CTE filler in communication with a second nozzle configured to print the low CTE filler onto the substrate, and a reservoir for a conductive ink in communication with a third nozzle configured to print the conductive ink onto the substrate. The 3D printing system prints the UV-curable dielectric material and the low CTE filler such that the printed low CTE filler mixes with the printed UV-curable dielectric material and forms a UV-curable dielectric layer with the low CTE filler dispersed therein.

Abstract: A thermoset polymerizable casting compound, formulated for production of kitchen sinks and sanitary ware, including: (a) at least one monofunctional acrylic and/or methacrylic monomer from recycled material and/or of plant or animal origin, (b) at least one polyfunctional acrylic and/or methacrylic biomonomer of plant or animal origin, (c) at least one polymer or copolymer selected from (co)polyacrylates, (co)polymethacrylates, polyols, polyesters, rosins, polyterpene resins, each from recycled material or of plant or animal origin, where the substances according to (a)-(c) form a polymer binder, and (d) inorganic and/or organic filler particles of natural origin or from recycled material. The proportion of the monofunctional acrylic and/or methacrylic monomer(s) and of the polyfunctional acrylic and methacrylic biomonomer(s) is 10-40% by weight, the proportion of the polymer(s) or copolymer(s) is 1-16% by weight, the proportion of the inorganic and/or organic filler particles is 44-89% by weight, and the polymer binder further includes at least one polymerizable terpene or derivatives thereof.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method for producing an optical film excellent in anti-fouling properties and scratch resistance as well as anti-reflection properties. The method includes the steps of: (1) applying a lower layer resin and an upper layer resin; (2) forming a resin layer having the uneven structure on a surface thereof by pressing a mold against the lower layer resin and the upper layer resin from the upper layer resin side in the state where the applied lower layer resin and upper layer resin are stacked; and (3) curing the resin layer, the lower layer resin containing at least one kind of first monomer that contains no fluorine atoms, the upper layer resin containing a fluorine-containing monomer and at least one kind of second monomer that contains no fluorine atoms, at least one of the first monomer and the second monomer containing a compatible monomer that is compatible with the fluorine-containing monomer and being dissolved in the lower layer resin and the upper layer resin.
