    摘要: An integrated direct fuel injector position is incorporated providing better fuel atomization within the combustion chamber. The direct fuel injector position is integrated between within an intake passage body and a cylinder head assembly eliminating the need for additional fuel delivery conduits, thus decreasing the size of the engine and lowering the production costs of the outboard motor. The direct fuel injector position permits immediate air/fuel mixture adjustments allowing for improved acceleration enrichment and lean stratified charge operation. The integrated direct fuel injector position enables the operator to enjoy compact engine design, improved engine performance and increased fuel efficiency.

The valve housing includes a first end and an opposite second end. The first end has an opening formed therein. The opening defines a first axial length. The intake manifold valve system includes a valve shaft assembly disposed in the valve housing. The valve shaft assembly includes a shaft having at least one valve provided thereon. The shaft includes a first end and an opposite second end. The second end has with an extended portion. The extended portion defines a second axial length that is greater than the first axial length of the opening. When the extended portion of the shaft is positioned in the opening, the extended portion is movable axially within the opening. At the same time, the extended portion is operative to operatively support the shaft relative to the valve housing.

    摘要: An intake device for an internal combustion engine includes a throttle body (1) that forms an intake passage (1a). A throttle valve (2) is arranged within the intake passage. A pipe member (26) is connected to the throttle body, wherein the pipe member forms a communication passage (26a) communicating with the intake passage. An engagement device (53,63; 85,87; 92,63) is provided between the throttle body and the pipe member. The engagement device includes at least one engagement protrusion (53; 85; 92) and at least one engagement recess (63; 87M). When the engagement protrusion and the engagement recess are engaged with each other, detachment of the throttle body and the pipe member from each other is restricted. The assembly process is simplified by a lack of separate components such as clamps and bolts, relying instead upon a typical snap-fit connection.

    摘要: An integrated intake manifold assembly including a poppet valve disposed at the air inlet to the manifold to regulate air flow into the manifold; a poppet valve disposed on the manifold to regulate exhaust gas flow into the air intake system; and a bi-directional camshaft with cams for operating simultaneously the manifold vacuum regulating (MVR) valve and the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) valve. The valve bodies are integrally formed in the wall of the intake manifold. The camshaft is driven by a DC motor and gear train. The cams are arranged on the shaft to provide optimum synchronized opening and closing of the related valves. When used on a diesel engine, the assembly may further include a swirl valve plate disposed between the manifold and the engine head and having a plurality of ganged swirl valves actuated by levers connected to the camshaft for coordinated motion with the MVR and EGR valves. Preferably, the swirl valve plate is also ported as a distribution rail to receive exhaust gas from the single EGR valve and distribute it to the individual cylinders. The valve stems of the MVR and EGR valves are modified as forked yokes engaging the camshaft to minimize side loading of the valve stems by the cams.
