Abstract:
Methods, apparatuses, and systems are described related to interference averaging to generate feedback information and interference averaging to demodulate receives signals. In embodiments, an evolved Node B (eNB) may transmit interference averaging information to a user equipment (UE) including a time domain averaging indicator indicating a time domain averaging window to be used by the UE for averaging interference measurements in a time domain or a frequency domain averaging indicator to indicate a frequency domain averaging window to be used by the UE for averaging interference measurements in a frequency domain. Additionally, or alternatively, the eNB may transmit an interference resource group (IRG) indicator to the UE to indicate an IRG over which the UE is to perform interference averaging to facilitate demodulation of signals received by the UE from the eNB.
Abstract:
In providing feedback to an eNB in an LTE network for downlink scheduling and link adaptation, a UE issues a channel state information (CSI) report that includes a channel quality index (CQI). The reported CQI should include all UE receiver processing capabilities, including NAICS (network assisted interference cancellation and suppression) capability to cancel and suppress interference. Described are measures that may be taken to provide more accurate reporting of CSI by a terminal with NAICS capability.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses for communicating in a wireless network include provision of interfering signal characteristics information to a user equipment to facilitate suppression of an interfering signal present in a downlink signal being received at the user equipment.
Abstract:
Technology for periodic channel state information (CSI) reporting is disclosed. One method can include a user equipment (UE) identifying a configured CSI reporting instance for a secondary cell to report the periodic CSI to a node based on a CSI reporting configuration of the secondary cell. The UE can determine that the configured CSI reporting instance of the secondary cell used to report the periodic CSI does not correspond with an uplink (UL) subframe of a primary cell. The UE can transmit the periodic CSI report for the secondary cell, to the node, using a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) on the secondary cell when the periodic CSI reporting instance for the secondary cell does not correspond with the UL subframe of the primary cell and an UL-SCH (Uplink Shared Channel) is available in a subframe that corresponds to the periodic CSI reporting instance of the secondary cell.
Abstract:
A computer-readable storage medium stores instructions to configure a UE for NR positioning in a 5G NR network, and to cause the UE to perform operations including decoding configuration signaling received from a location and management function (LMF) node of the 5GNR network. The configuration signaling includes a positioning reference signal (PRS) measurement configuration. A number of measurement samples per a successful measurement reporting can be indicated by the PRS measurement configuration which depends on a specific conditions (e.g., PRS bandwidth, propagation channel, and SINR). A PRS received from a base station is decoded. Downlink PRS (DL-PRS) positioning measurements is performed based on the PRS. The DL-PRS positioning measurements are encoded for transmission to the LMF node using the number of measurement samples.
Abstract:
An apparatus and system for setting an uplink timing advance (TA) for a non-terrestrial network (NTN) user equipment (UE) are described. The NTN UE estimates and updates a UE-specific TA value each period. The update is based on Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) positions and satellite ephemeris information. The NTN UE adjusts the UE-specific TA gradually, between a predetermined minimum and maximum aggregate adjustment rate.
Abstract:
Various embodiments herein provide techniques for positioning measurements in a wireless cellular network when a user equipment (UE) is in a radio resource control (RRC) inactive state or a RRC idle state. For example, the UE may transmit a sounding reference signal (SRS) for positioning measurements while the UE is in the RRC inactive state or RRC idle state. The SRS may be a semi-persistent SRS and may be transmitted after an activation delay from receipt of a message (e.g., medium access control (MAC) control element (CE)) that activates the SRS. Additionally, or alternatively, the UE may perform a positioning reference signal (PRS) measurement while in the RRC inactive state or the RRC idle state. The PRS measurement may have a reduced number of measurement samples. Other embodiments may be described and claimed.
Abstract:
Dynamic transmission of non-zero power channel state information resource signals and interference measurement resources is described. Such dynamic transmission reduces or eliminates a need to buffer and store channel and interference measurements The described approach also reduces the overhead due to transmission of those resources and enables flexible time-domain channel state information requests.
Abstract:
User Equipment (UE) and base station (eNB) apparatus and methodology for radio resource management reporting. The UE receives reference signals from at least one antenna port of an eNB via a plurality of receive antennas of the UE. The UE performs received signal measurement of at least a portion of the reference signals for a plurality of eNB antenna port and UE receive antenna combinational groupings to produce enhanced received signal quality (eRSQ) measurements that represent spatial characteristics of the reference signaling as received by the UE. The UE may send a report to the eNB based on the eRSQ measurements, with the report being indicative of spatial multiplexing layer availability of the UE to be served by the eNB.
Abstract:
Technology for adjusting a receiver timing of a wireless device in a Coordinated MultiPoint (CoMP) system is disclosed. One method can include the wireless device receiving a plurality of node specific reference signals (RSs) from a plurality of cooperating nodes in a coordination set of the CoMP system. The coordination set includes at least two cooperating nodes. The wireless device can estimate a composite received RS timing from a plurality of received RS timings generated from the plurality of node specific RSs. The received RS timings represent timings from the at least two cooperating nodes. The wireless device can adjust the receiver timing based on the composite received RS timing. A node specific RS can include a channel-state information reference signal (CSI-RS).
