Abstract: A battery module for a powered device includes: a casing that includes a top cover and a bottom cover; cells disposed between the top cover and the bottom cover; and a cell holder assembly comprising cell holders that accommodate the cells. The cell holder assembly includes an inlet manifold and an outlet manifold that enable a coolant to flow through the cell holders sequentially from the inlet manifold to the outlet manifold to extract heat generated by each of the cells.

Abstract: A battery pack module assembly includes a housing having a main body, a first cover, and a second cover. The first cover matingly engages a first side of the main body, and the second cover matingly engages a second side of the main body. The first and second sides are on opposite sides of the main body. The main body includes an interior having a plurality of hollow cylinders, with each hollow cylinder configured for insertion of at least one battery cell within an interior of the hollow cylinder. At least one port provides an inlet for coolant moving into the interior of the main body, and an outlet for coolant moving out from the interior of the main body. The interior of the housing is configured for coolant to flow therewithin and around at least a portion of an exterior surface of each hollow cylinder. Coolant does not contact battery cells disposed within hollow cylinders. The assembly includes bus bars configured to provide electrical communication between at least two battery cells.

Abstract: A cooling apparatus for cooling a battery in a vehicle by means of a coolant includes a first coolant circuit including a first heat exchanger for heat transfer between the coolant and the battery, a pumping device, and a collecting vessel for the coolant connected to one another by means of coolant lines. A condensate line connects the collecting vessel to an air conditioning system of the vehicle for the introduction of condensate. A related method for cooling a battery is also disclosed.

Abstract: A battery pack is provided including: a plurality of battery cells arranged in multiple battery cell rows; one or more heat exchange spaces; and a device for providing heat exchange to the battery pack. Further, the device includes a heat conduction medium passage arranged in the heat exchange spaces, such that the heat conduction medium passage surrounds multiple battery cells in each battery cell row. The heat conduction medium passage is provided with at least a first group of channels and a second group of channels, which are in contact with the surface of each battery cell, and a heat conduction medium is provided in the first group of channels and the second group of channels. The heat conduction medium flows in the first group of channels in a direction opposite from the flow of the heat conduction medium in the second group of channels.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are a system and method for managing a battery for vehicle and vehicle thereof. A power network server includes a controller and a memory storing a program to be executed in the controller. The program includes instructions for collecting information about energy consumption of the battery and information about a vehicle state from the vehicle, converting an ambient temperature based energy consumption to a reference temperature based learned energy consumption, calculating a charging or discharging amount of energy by reflecting the current ambient temperature based on the converted learned energy consumption, setting a range of charging or discharging current based on the charging or discharging amount of energy and an extra amount of energy, and managing the battery based on the set range of charging or discharging current.

Abstract: Provided are cooling subsystems for a vehicle energy-storage system comprising a heat pipe disposed between two battery modules, the heat pipe being thermally coupled to each of a plurality of cells of the two battery modules at an end of each cell. The heat pipe comprises an envelope and a working fluid, the heat pipe transferring heat from the plurality of cells. Optionally, the cooling subsystem further includes a heat exchanger thermally coupled to the heat pipe, the heat exchanger receiving heat from the heat pipe.
