The ventricular assist device is formed of an ventricle body which is anchorable to spaced ventricle wall portions to provide cardiac assistance. Operation of the ventricular assist device is timed or synchronized with the operating phases of the ventricle chamber. The ventricular assist device can be intravascularly deployed to provide a less invasive treatment procedure and can be adapted to provide static support if active assistance is no longer required.

    摘要: An MRAM device comprising an array of MRAM elements, with each element having an MRAM bit influenced by a magnetic field from a current flowing through a conductor, also includes a magnetic keeper formed adjacent the conductor to advantageously alter the magnetic field. The magnetic keeper alters the magnetic field by concentrating the field within the keeper thereby reducing the extent in which fringe field exists, thus allowing the MRAM elements to be formed closer to increase the areal density of the MRAM device. Increase in magnetic field flux due to the magnetic keeper allows operation of the MRAM device with lowered power. Soft magnetic materials such as nickel iron, nickel iron cobalt, or cobalt iron may be used to form the magnetic keeper.

    摘要: An apparatus for promoting hemostasis of a puncture formed in a blood vessel accessible through an incision tract and methods of use thereof. The apparatus includes distal and proximal balloons each having a contracted position and an expanded position, the proximal balloon spaced by a predetermined initial distance from the distal balloon. The apparatus further includes at least one catheter coupling the distal and proximal balloons to a source of pressurized fluid to selectively actuate the distal and proximal balloons between the contracted and expanded positions.
