摘要: Systems and methods for a continuous monitoring of analyte values received from an analyte sensor system are provided. One method for a wireless data communication between an analyte sensor system and a mobile device involves storing identification information associated with a transceiver of the analyte sensor system, the identification information entered by a user of the mobile device via a custom application running on the mobile device; causing the custom application to enter a background mode; searching for advertisement signals; receiving an advertisement signal from the transceiver; authenticating the transceiver based on the identification information; prompting the user to bring the custom application to a foreground mode; causing the custom application to request a confirmation from the user that a data connection with the transceiver is desired; receiving the confirmation from the user; and completing the data connection with the transceiver.

摘要: Various embodiments are described herein for a device, system, and method for identifying a location of an ingestible device within a gastrointestinal tract of a body. In some embodiments, the ingestible device includes a sensing unit with an axial optical sensing sub-unit located proximal to at least one end of the device, and a radial optical sensing sub-unit located proximal to a radial wall of the device, and may autonomously identify a location within the gastrointestinal tract. In some embodiments, the ingestible device includes optical illumination sources and detectors that operate at a plurality of different wavelengths, and may discern regions of a gastrointestinal tract by using the reflection properties of organ tissue and occasional particulates. In some embodiments, the ingestible device may sample fluid or release medicament based on a detected device location.

In an exemplary embodiment of a capsule of the present disclosure, the capsule comprises an outer shell configured to dissolve or otherwise be digested within a stomach after ingestion, an expandable material positioned within the outer shell, the expandable material configured for expansion within the stomach after the outer shell has dissolved, and at least one element or sensor selected from the group consisting of an impedance element and a pressure sensor.

The hollow medicament compartment housing is associated with the housing of the capsule and includes at least one aperture. The hollow of the medicament compartment housing is configured to have the medicament tablet disposed therein. The aperture(s) are dimensioned to enable fluid communication the surrounding environment and the hollow.

摘要: An intelligent implant includes a component of an implantable prosthesis and an implantable reporting processor (IRP) associated with the implantable prosthesis. The IRP includes a housing having a casing and a cover coupled to the casing, an electronics assembly within the housing, and an antenna within the housing and coupled to the electronics assembly. The antenna is tuned to, and the electronics assembly is configured to enable communication through the antenna at both 2.45 GHZ and 403 MHZ (MICS channel). The antenna comprises a flat ribbon configured in a loop and having major surfaces. The antenna is encapsulated within the cover of the housing and is oriented therein with major surfaces of the antenna generally parallel with an inner surface of the cover.

摘要: A biosensor capsule having a generally cylindrical housing with a plurality of sensors including a radiation sensor including a radiation emitter and a radiation detector and at least one additional sensor. A processor uses data feeds from the radiation sensor and also from one more additional sensor of a different type. Additional sensors may be pressure or pH sensors to provide sensor signals to detect location along the GI tract in use. There may be a camera, and data derived from other sensors may be embedded in a video feed timeline. The capsule may have an asymmetric weight distribution to help keep sensing parts immersed in liquid.

摘要: An intervertebral implant includes a body adapted to be implanted into an intervertebral space of a patient, the body defining a fusion aperture, and at least one cartridge with each cartridge disposed in the body and at least partially extending into the fusion aperture. Each cartridge includes an impedance sensor configured to measure electrical resistance, a radio frequency (RF) transmit antenna configured to transmit a RF signal, and circuitry for recording data from the impedance sensor and transmit the recorded data to an external clinician computing device through the RF transmit antenna. Such collection and use of data can be used to provide improved orthopedic outcomes.
