摘要： An infrared detector useful in, e.g., infrared cameras, includes a substrate having an array of infrared detectors and a readout integrated circuit interconnected with the array disposed on an upper surface thereof, for one or more embodiments. A generally planar window is spaced above the array, the window being substantially transparent to infrared light. A mesa is bonded to the window. The mesa has closed marginal side walls disposed between an outer periphery of a lower surface of the window and an outer periphery of the upper surface of the substrate and defines a closed cavity between the window and the array that encloses the array. A solder seal bonds the mesa to the substrate so as to seal the cavity.

摘要： An array bolometric detector for detecting an electromagnetic radiation in a predetermined infrared or terahertz wavelength range, including a substrate, and an array of bolometric microplates for the detection of the radiation, suspended above the substrate by support elements. The detector includes a membrane arranged above each microplate, and having patterns having a refractive index smaller than that of the membrane formed therein. The patterns are placed periodically along at least one axis of the membrane, according to a period shorter than or equal to λ n , where λ is a wavelength to be detected and n is the average refractive index of the medium separating the microplate from the membrane. The width of the patterns along the axis increases from a central location of the membrane towards the periphery thereof.

摘要： An apparatus for detecting electromagnetic radiation within a target frequency range is provided. The apparatus includes a substrate and one or more resonator structures disposed on the substrate. The substrate can be a dielectric or semiconductor material. Each of the one or more resonator structures has at least one dimension that is less than the wavelength of target electromagnetic radiation within the target frequency range, and each of the resonator structures includes at least two conductive structures separated by a spacing. Charge carriers are induced in the substrate near the spacing when the resonator structures are exposed to the target electromagnetic radiation. A measure of the change in conductivity of the substrate due to the induced charge carriers provides an indication of the presence of the target electromagnetic radiation.
