Abstract: An adhesive-applying method is disclosed herein. The method comprises: providing a film comprising pressure sensitive adhesive coated on a major surface thereof; heating the film to a softening point of the film; and pressing the film against a substrate with an application device, the application device comprising a film-contacting portion, the film-contacting portion comprising a foam material and having a thermal conductivity of less than 1.8 BTU in/(hr ft2° F.); wherein the pressure sensitive adhesive on the major surface of the film adheres to the substrate. Application devices and kits that may be used in conjunction with the method are also disclosed herein.

Abstract: A sealing patch for a polymeric bag includes a carrier, a pressure sensitive adhesive on the carrier and a heat-activated material on the pressure sensitive adhesive. A high-strength polymeric bag is formed from woven tapes and is coated with a polymer material. The sealing patch is positioned on the bag for sealing the bag. A method for sealing a high-strength polymeric bag with a sealing patch and a device for sealing a polymeric bag with a sealing patch are disclosed.

Abstract: Pressure sensitive adhesive compositions are described comprising at least one low Tg ethylenically unsaturated monomer, and at least one silsesquioxane polymer crosslinker comprising a plurality of ethylenically unsaturated groups. The low Tg ethylenically unsaturated monomer typically has a Tg no greater than 10° C. In some embodiments, the composition comprises at least 50, 55, 60, 65, or 70 wt-% of low Tg ethylenically unsaturated monomer. The low Tg ethylenically unsaturated monomer is typically an alkyl (meth)acrylate comprising 4 to 20 carbon atoms. In another embodiment, an adhesive composition is described comprising a syrup. The syrup comprising i) a free-radically polymerizable solvent monomer; ii) a solute (meth)acrylic polymer comprising polymerized units derived from one or more alkyl (meth)acrylate monomers, and iii) at least one silsesquioxane polymer crosslinker comprising a plurality of ethylenically unsaturated groups. The free-radically polymerizable solvent monomer, polymerized units of the solute (meth)acrylic polymer, or a combination thereof comprise a low Tg ethylenically unsaturated monomer. Also described are pressure sensitive adhesive articles and method of preparing adhesive articles.

Abstract: Provided are a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape, a polishing pad, a method of manufacturing the same, a polishing device and a method of manufacturing a glass substrate. The illustrative pressure-sensitive adhesive tape may be a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape for a polishing material. The pressure-sensitive adhesive tape may be effectively fixed to a surface plate without bubbles, and have excellent resistance to water and a polishing solution and shear strength applied in a polishing process. In addition, the pressure-sensitive adhesive tape may be easily removed from a carrier or surface plate for a polishing pad without residues after polishing.

This light release additive for release sheets comprises an acryl-silicone-based graft copolymer with a weight-average molecular weight of 1,000 to 100,000 obtained by radical polymerization of (A) an organopolysiloxane compound having an acrylic group and/or a methacrylic group and (B) a radical polymerizable monomer having one radical polymerizable group per molecule.

More specifically, the present invention relates to a polarizing plate with improved light leakage phenomenon in accordance with bend of liquid crystal panels, characterized in that as slid distances of pressure-sensitive adhesives on the polarizing plate having the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer formed thereon and bonded to a glass plate with a contact area of 1 cm×1 cm at the time of applying a load of 1,000 gf at room temperature (25° C.) for 1,000 seconds, the difference between the slid distance X1 of pressure-sensitive adhesive for the upper polarizing plate and the slid distance X2 of pressure-sensitive adhesive for the lower polarizing plate is 50 to 500 μm.

Also disclosed is an adhesive tape comprising a foamed carrier and the pressure-sensitive adhesive.

Abstract: A powerful pressure-sensitive adhesive which is notable by way of good wetting and dewetting behaviour on surfaces having different surface energies comprises at least 50 wt %, based on the total weight of the pressure-sensitive adhesive, of at least one polymer A which may be derived from the following monomer composition: a1) 55 to 75 wt % of at least one (meth)acrylic ester having a homopolymer glass transition temperature of not more than −60° C. and an alcohol component based on a branched, primary alcohol, having an iso index of 1; a2) 20 to 40 wt % of at least one (meth)acrylic ester having an alcohol component based on a linear C1-C18 alcohol; a3) 5 to 15 wt % of acrylic acid. The pressure-sensitive adhesive of the invention reveals particularly good properties when combined with a foamed carrier.

Abstract: A method for increasing the adhesion between the first surface of a first web-shaped material and a first surface of a second web-shaped material, the first web-shaped material and the second web-shaped material being fed continuously and with the same web direction to a laminating gap, in which the first web-shaped material and the second web-shaped material are laminated together by means of the first surfaces thereof, the two first surfaces being treated with a single plasma simultaneously and preferably over the entire area, the laminating gap being formed by a pressing element and a counter-pressure device, which builds up a counter pressure, and preferably at least one of the lateral surfaces of the pressing element and of the counter-pressure device or both being equipped with a dielectric, characterized in that none of the two first surfaces/web-shaped materials are guided through the discharge zone of the plasma-generating device.

Abstract: The semiconductor processing sheet of the present invention is a semiconductor processing sheet including a base material and a pressure sensitive adhesive layer provided on one surface of the base material, wherein the pressure sensitive adhesive layer contains an acrylic polymer (A) having a molecular weight distribution of 3.0 or less and an acrylic polymer (B) having a molecular weight distribution of more than 3.0; and a gel fraction of the pressure sensitive adhesive layer is 50 to 70%, and a number average molecular weight of a sol content thereof is 60,000 or more.
