摘要: Radio frequency amplifiers with overload protection are provided herein. In certain configurations, an RF amplifier system includes an RF amplifier that receives an RF signal from an input terminal and that generates an amplified RF signal at an output terminal, and an overload detection circuit that generates a detection signal indicating a detected signal level of the RF amplifier. The RF amplifier includes an amplification device that amplifies the RF signal and a degeneration circuit that provides degeneration to the amplification device. Additionally, the detection signal is operable to control an amount of degeneration provided by the degeneration circuit so as to protect the RF amplifier from overload.

摘要: The present invention breaks up the frequency bands which can be filtered by a simple low-loss band-pass or low pass filter. The second harmonic frequency is reduced by use of a non-linear clipper element which controls the driving waveform symmetry and can reduce the harmonics by as much as 5-15db which makes the filter much simpler and allows the amplifier to remain wide-band. The output waveform from the amplifier is symmetrical or nearly symmetrical.

摘要: According to an embodiment, a high-frequency semiconductor amplifier circuit includes an input terminal and an output terminal. A gate of a first transistor is connected to the input terminal. A drain of the first transistor is connected to the output terminal. A second transistor is connected between a source of the first transistor and a reference potential terminal. A bias generation circuit has an input control signal terminal, a bias voltage terminal connected to the gate of the first transistor, a control voltage terminal connected to a gate of the second transistor, and an intermediate voltage terminal connected to the drain of the first transistor. The bias generation circuit supplies a control voltage, a bias voltage, and a first voltage according to the input control signal.

The adjustments may facilitate control of output parameters, such as gain or efficiency. The amplifier may further include calibration circuitry to determine adjustment responses to various tracked input parameters.

In the intra-band CA mode, the one or more first RF output signals includes a first RF signal and a second RF signal, and the first amplification unit is further configured to provide the first output unit with the first RF signal and provide the second output unit with the second RF signal.

摘要: A driver interface for a switch-based circuit includes an AC coupling capacitor, a first diode or a first series of diodes, and a second diode or a second series of diodes connected in series with the first diode or first series of diodes but with an opposing polarity. The AC coupling capacitor removes a DC voltage from an input bi-level drive signal that does not have the appropriate high and low drive levels needed to switch a FET in the switch-based circuit between fully ON and fully OFF states. The first diode or first series of diodes and the second diode or second series of diodes clamp the resulting AC-coupled drive signal to produce an output bi-level drive signal having the high and low drive levels needed to switch the FET between fully ON and fully OFF states. The driver interface maintains the high and low drive levels of the output bi-level drive signal irrespective of any changes made to the duty cycle or pulse density of the input bi-level drive signal.

摘要: The invention provides a bond wire arrangement comprising a signal bond wire (1) for operably connecting a first electronic device (6) to a second electronic device (8), and a control bond wire (2) being arranged alongside the signal bond wire at a distance so as to have a magnetic coupling with the signal bond wire (1), and having a first end (11) coupled to ground, and a second end (12) coupled to ground via a resistive element (14). The proposed solution allows the control of the Q factor (losses) of wire bond inductors during assembly phase, which will save time and reduce overall design cycle as compared to known methods.
