摘要： A combustor for a gas turbine includes a plurality of radially outer nozzles arranged in an annular array, each of the radially outer nozzles having an outlet end located to supply fuel and/or air to a first combustion chamber. A center nozzle has an outlet end located axially upstream of the outlet ends of the radially outer nozzles, and is configured and arranged to supply fuel and air to a second combustion chamber axially upstream of the first combustion chamber. The second combustion chamber opens into the first combustion chamber and has a length sufficient to maintain a center nozzle flame confined to the second combustion chamber.

摘要： A water filtration apparatus has at least one tank in fluid communication with a conduit through at least one aperture in a wall. Each tank uses filter blocks to support the filter medium and to direct the filtered water to the conduit via the aperture. An end plate for the filter block is provided, the end plate being adapted to seal against a free end of the filter block. The end plate also provides apertures for fluid flow into and out of the filter block, and a device for receiving a sealant to provide a seal between the end plate and the wall. The end plate improves the installation of the apparatus, and the sealant improves the reliability of the seal round the apertures, which in turn improves the efficiency of a backwash operation used to clean the filter medium.

摘要： Methods and apparatuses for the protection of radio frequency identification (RFID) devices are described. In one aspect, a static dissipative material is applied to a web of antenna structures. A coating of the static dissipative material is applied continuously across a plurality of antenna structures of a roll of the web material. An RFID integrated circuit (IC) is attached to the web of antenna structures with the dissipative coating, then subsequently tested on the roll. Additional processing is performed to the RFID tag to produce an RFID label.

摘要： A gas turbine combustor includes a combustion chamber defined by a combustor liner, the combustor liner having an upstream end cover supporting one or more nozzles arranged to supply fuel to the combustion chamber where the fuel mixes with air supplied from a compressor. A transition duct is connected between an aft end of the combustion chamber liner and a first stage turbine casing, the transition duct supplying gaseous products of combustion to the first stage turbine nozzle. One or more additional fuel injection nozzles are arranged at an aft end of the transition duct for introducing additional fuel into the transition duct upstream of the first stage turbine nozzle.

摘要： A machine tool apparatus and method for exterior and interior cutting operations on a workpiece is provided. In one form, the machine tool apparatus has a common support assembly with a tailstock and a boring tool holder mounted thereto. The common support assembly has a common support carriage that is mounted to a machine base for travel along a longitudinal axis parallel to a central axis of the workpiece. The tailstock and boring tool holder are mounted to a mounting base portion for travel transverse to the workpiece central axis. In one form, a turret having external cutting tools is separate from the boring tool holder and mounted to the machine base for performing external cutting operations on the workpiece. This separate mounting allows the turret to machine the exterior of the workpiece while also permitting a longer boring tool to perform deep internal cutting operations on the workpiece.
