摘要: A blood treatment system with pressure sensors may be configured to control blood flow to and from the patient and use readings of the pressure sensors to determine a change in a pressure drop across a flow restriction in the blood circuit to estimate a condition of the machine or the patient, or outputting data responsive to the estimation. Further embodiments employ measurement of pressure drop to detect abnormal viscosity or viscosity variations in order to detect possible infection.

摘要: A fluid management system includes a pump configured to pump fluid through the system at a fluid flow rate. The system includes a processor including a user interface, the user interface allowing a user to input a set of system operating parameters, the processor being configured to control the pump to maintain a target fluid flow rate based on the set of system operating parameters. The system further includes a scope device coupled to the pump to deliver the fluid to a target surgical site, the scope device including an elongated shaft extending from a distal end thereof, the elongated shaft including at least one sensor, the at least one sensor transmitting sensor data relating to the target surgical site to the processor. The processor automatically signals to the pump to adjust the fluid flow rate based on the sensor data.

Functions of the fluid management systems can include fluid pressurization, fluid warming, fluid deficit monitoring (including flow-based and weight-based), suction, fluid collection, and fluid evacuation (including indirect-to-drain and direct-to-drain options). The systems can be configured based on the surgical environment (e.g., operating room or physician office) as well as other user needs and/or preferences.

摘要: A sleeping application receives initial sensor data from one or more sensors of a sensor set in a physical environment for a time period, wherein the sensor set includes at least one of a temperature sensor, a pressure sensor, a humidity sensor, a light sensor, a sound sensor, a thermal-imaging sensor, and a motion sensor. The sleeping application behavior patterns of a set of sleep events of a target subject based on the initial sensor data. The sleeping application generates a recommendation based on the behavior patterns to achieve a target outcome for a target subject in the physical environment. The sleeping application provides the recommendation.

摘要: A wound therapy apparatus is disclosed that includes a wound interface securable to a skin surface around a wound bed to form an enclosed space over the wound bed that is fluid-tight. The wound therapy apparatus may include a dressing engaged with the wound interface to contact the wound bed. A spacer may be disposed within the enclosed space proximal of the dressing to define a plenum between portions of the wound interface and a proximal side of the dressing. Gas within the enclosed space may have an O2 concentration greater than the O2 concentration in atmospheric air. The dressing may include a hydrophobic material, a hydrophilic material, or a distal layer comprised of silicone having fenestrations therein, in various aspects. The pressure p0 within the enclosed space may vary over a pressure range Pmin≤P0≤Pmax. Related methods of use are also disclosed.

摘要: Apparatus and methods are described including a blood pump that includes an axial shaft, an impeller disposed on the axial shaft, a frame disposed around the impeller, and a motor disposed outside a subject's body, and configured to drive the impeller to pump blood from a distal end of the impeller to a proximal end of the impeller. A drive cable extends from outside the subject's body to the axial shaft, and is configured to impart rotational motion from the motor to the impeller by rotating. The drive cable is held in a preloaded state with respect to the frame, such that initiation of pumping of blood by rotation of the impeller does not cause the drive cable to axially elongate. Other applications are also described.

摘要: A peritoneal dialysis (“PD”) system includes a PD fluid pump; a patient line for receiving used PD fluid pumped by the PD fluid pump during a patient drain; a pressure sensor positioned and arranged to sense a negative pressure associated with the PD fluid pumped during the patient drain; and a control unit configured to (i) determine or know a flowrate of the PD fluid pumped during the patient drain, (ii) determine an applied negative pressure at which the PD fluid pump is to pump the PD fluid during the patient drain, the applied pressure based on a pressure drop corresponding to the determined or known flowrate, and (iii) use sensed negative pressure from the pressure sensor to cause the PD fluid pump to pump the PD fluid during the patient drain at the applied negative pressure.

摘要: Disclosed embodiments relate to apparatuses and methods for wound treatment. In some embodiments, a negative pressure source is incorporated into a wound dressing apparatus so that the wound dressing and the negative pressure source are part of an integral or integrated wound dressing structure that applies the wound dressing and the negative pressure source simultaneously to a patient's wound. The negative pressure source and/or electronic components may be positioned between a wound contact layer and a cover layer of the wound dressing. The negative pressure source and/or electronic components may be separated and/or partitioned from an absorbent area of the dressing. A switch may be integrated with the wound dressing to control operation of the wound dressing apparatus. A connector may be direct air from an outlet of the negative pressure source to the environment. A non-return valve may inhibit back flow of air into the wound dressing.
