    摘要: The present invention is directed to melt blown polyolefin film which is produced cheaply by melt blowing polyolefin resins which contain 25 to 60 wt % fillers selected from the fillers including an inorganic carbonate, synthetic carbonates, nepheline syenite, talc, magnesium hydroxide, aluminum trihydrate, diatomaceous earth, mica, natural or synthetic silicas and calcined clays or mixtures thereof, having a particle size less than 150 mesh.A further aspect of the present invention is directed to polyolefin resins, especially polyethylene, which are chemically degradable by the incorporation of the combination of the above group of fillers and a metal carboxylate. The metal carboxylates of the present invention are inclusive of a large number of metals, such as cerium, cobalt, iron, and magnesium.

    摘要: A spark plug for use in an internal combustion engine comprises a central electrode made of a base metal and an earth electrode. A tip portion is provided on the central electrode. The tip portion includes a noble metal tip layer for defining a spark discharge gap between the noble metal tip layer and the earth electrode, and an alloy layer provided between the noble metal tip layer and the central electrode. The tip portion is provided with grooves to be divided into a plurality of sections. The tip portion has an outer peripheral wall flared towards the earth electrode, and a width of the grooves gradually increases from a bottom thereof to a surface of the noble metal tip layer for defining the shark discharge gap.

    摘要: An internal combustion engine comprises one or more pairs of first and second cylinders, the first cylinder having a larger swept volume than the second cylinder and respective first and second pistons reciprocable in the cylinders. The second piston has a drive stem and divides the second cylinder into a first volume containing the drive stem of the second piston and a second volume between the two pistons. An air inlet and an exhaust outlet are provided for the first cylinder. A common combustion space is formed between the pistons when the pistons are substantially at their inner dead center positions, the combustion space comprising the second volume. A transfer means enables gas flow between the first volume and the combustion space towards the end of the compression stroke while an inhibiting means inhibits the movement of fuel/air mixture from the first volume into the second volume until towards the end of the compression stroke of the second piston. A fuel injector provides fuel to the first volume during the induction stroke of the second piston. The engine also has drive means for driving the second piston, the drive means including means for maintaining the second piston substantially at its inner dead center position during at least a portion of the expansion stroke of the first piston.

    摘要: A cooling system for an engine having a plurality of cylinder bores which are arranged along a longitudinal axis. First and second coolant passages continuously extend along the periphery of the bores on each side of the axis, extending from the bore arranged in one end of the engine to the bore arranged in another end of the engine. The first and the second passages are connected to each other by a connector at one end of the engine. Intermediate walls are formed between adjacent bores. A connecting passage is formed in each intermediate wall for connecting the first and the second coolant passages. Water as a coolant flows from an inlet, which is formed at the other end of the first coolant passage, through, in turn, the first coolant passage, the connector, and the second coolant passage, and flows out from an outlet, which is formed at the other end of the second coolant passage. Water also flows through the connecting passages.

    摘要: A series of method and apparatus advances in the accumulator-type fuel injector art, applicable to both intensified and unintensified accumulator injectors, which cooperate to provide major improvements in internal combustion engine fuel economy, reduction of noise, and reduction of undesirable exhaust emissions, including smoke, oxides of nitrogen and hydrocarbons. According to the invention, injector needle closure speed is increased for sharper fuel cutoff and better atomization proximate closure and needle closure bounce is minimized to minimize fuel dribble proximate closure by reducing both mass and length of the needle, which can be accomplished by a longitudinally divided needle. Hydraulic damping also damps and cushions both needle closing and needle opening. The accumulator cavity and needle spring cavity are separated, enabling the accumulator cavity to be as small as desired for high accumulator closing pressure, while nevertheless enabling a strong, fast-acting spring to be used, both factors cumulatively contributing to good closure atomization. A two-stage needle lift is provided for first injecting a pilot fuel charge for preignition, and then injecting the main fuel charge, thereby eliminating the usual adverse premixed burning. The injection spray pattern is automatically varied for improved engine efficiency over the engine power spectrum by utilizing a pintle-type injector nozzle which is variably controlled according to the quantity of fuel delivered.
