摘要: The present disclosure is directed to dielectric elastomeric composites that include a retainable processing membrane, an elastomer material, and an electrically conductive material. The elastomer layer may be partially imbibed into the retainable processing membrane. The retainable processing membrane may be porous. The retainable processing membrane is compacted in the transverse direction, machine direction, or in both directions prior to the application of an elastomer material and an electrically conductive material. The compaction of the retainable processing membrane may form structured folds or folded fibrils in the membrane, giving the retainable processing membrane a low modulus and flexibility. In some embodiments, the dielectric composites are positioned in a stacked configuration. Alternatively, the dielectric elastomeric composites may have a wound configuration. The dielectric composites have a total thickness less than about 170 μm. The dielectric elastomeric composites may be used, for example, in dielectric elastomer actuators, sensors, and in energy harvesting.

摘要: Compositions are provided including an uncrosslinked thermoplastic nitrogen-containing matrix material and composite particles distributed in the matrix material. The composite particles each include a chemical blowing agent particle encapsulated within a shell including an uncrosslinked thermoplastic material. The uncrosslinked thermoplastic material exhibits at least a certain minimum complex viscosity at a decomposition temperature of the chemical blowing agent particle. Also described are foam compositions and particles including the foam compositions, such as a sheet or multilayer construction. Composite particles are further provided. Methods of making the foam compositions are additionally described herein. Also, polishing pads, polishing systems, and methods of polishing a substrate are provided.

摘要: Provided is a laminate that generates a structural color, where the laminate can be subjected to a deep-drawing process without deteriorating the color developing structure of the structural color. The laminate according to an embodiment of the present invention includes a polyamide layer (1) and a thermoplastic polyurethane layer (2) having a color developing structure of a structural color. The thermoplastic polyurethane layer (2) is preferably a thermoplastic polyurethane layer having a structure having recesses and protrusions on a face that is opposite a face in contact with the polyamide layer (1) or a layer formed by alternately laminating two types of thermoplastic polyurethanes having a difference in refractive indexes of 0.03 or greater.

摘要: A multilayer sheet comprising first and second layers is provided. The first layer consists of a co-polyester. The second layer consists of a thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer having an elongation at break of greater than 200%, a hardness of 60A to 85D, an ultimate tensile strength of greater than about 5000 psi, and a light transmission between 400 nm and 800 nm of greater than about 75%. A mold is provided and the multilayer sheet is thermoformed over the mold to form a plurality of tooth-receiving cavities configured to receive and reposition a patient's teeth from a first arrangement toward a second arrangement. Excess material is trimmed from the thermoformed multilayer sheet to form a multilayer dental aligner.

摘要: A sports board incorporating reclaimed/reused sports board materials, and a method of making a such a sports board, allows for incorporation of portions of used (recycled) composite sports boards (or waste from the manufacture thereof) into new sports boards. This lessens the accumulation of composite sports board waste in the global environment, reduces the quantity of new virgin materials needed in the manufacture of new composite sports boards, and lessens the environmental impact of composite sports board manufacture and use. Optionally, the reclaimed sports board material may be incorporated into a new sports board in a manner providing structural enhancements (e.g., increased regional stiffness) to new sports boards. This may allow for structural enhancement while avoiding a significant increase in sports board weight, by incorporating used composite materials into new composite sports boards.
