摘要:
The present disclosure relates to compositions and methods for isolating nucleic acids from a sample comprising nucleic acids, such as physiologically relevant samples or environmental samples. The sample can be incubated with a population of polymers that bind the nucleic acids to form a coacervate in a liquid-liquid phase separated solution. Incubation can be performed at a temperature above a concentration dependent phase separation transition temperature of the polymers. The resulting coacervate can be decanted from the liquid-liquid phase separated solution. The nucleic acids can be separated from the polymers by adding a salt solution, adjusting the pH, or both to disrupt an electrostatic interaction between the nucleic acids and the polymers.

An analytical device such as a flow cytometer is provided in which a fluid sample flowing through a channel is focused into multiple, parallel particle streams by an acoustic wave field extending across the channel. Each stream is then presented to an individual detector to allow for simultaneous interrogation of the multiple streams and thus, high-throughput analysis of the fluid sample.
摘要:
The invention relates to lipid bilayer coated beads and methods of using those beads in delivery systems, in immunoassays, in analytical assays and the like.
摘要:
A lateral flow device includes a porous medium layer having a two-dimensional shape in plan view that is capable of supporting near-constant velocity capillary-driven fluid flow and can be combined with electrodes in a manner to achieve to achieve electrokinetic molecule separation.
摘要:
The present invention provides a nanostructured device comprising a substrate including nanotroughs therein; and a lipid bilayer suspended on or supported in the substrate. A separation method is also provided comprising the steps of supporting or suspending a lipid bilayer on a substrate; wherein the substrate comprises nanostructures and wherein the lipid bilayer comprises at least one membrane associated biomolecule; and applying a driving force to the lipid bilayer to separate the membrane associated biomolecule from the lipid bilayer and to drive the membrane associated biomolecule into the nanostructures.
摘要:
Anisotropic hydrophobic/hydrophilic nanoporous membranes and methods of forming anisotropic hydrophobic/hydrophilic nanoporous membranes are disclosed. The method of forming the nanoporous membrane includes growing a nanoporous oxide film on a substrate. A nanoporous membrane having a top side and a bottom side can then be formed by partially separating the nanoporous oxide film from the substrate. A fluorocarbon film can be deposited on the top side of the nanoporous membrane by plasma polymerization. The disclosed anisotropic hydrophobic/hydrophilic nanoporous membranes can have extremely different hydrophobicity between the top side and the bottom side of the nanoporous membrane.
摘要:
The invention provides a device for adhering cells in a specific and predetermined position, and associated methods. The device includes a plate defining a surface and a plurality of cytophilic islands that adhere cells, isolated by cytophobic regions to which cells do not adhere, contiguous with the cytophilic islands. The islands or the regions or both may be formed of a self-assembled monolayer (SAM).
