摘要: A two-component waterborne coating system includes: a first component including an acid-functional polymer having an acid value of at least 100, based on total resin solids, dispersed in an aqueous medium; and a second component separate from the first component. The second component includes an epoxy-functional compound. A method of preparing a two-component waterborne coating system and two-component waterborne coating system kit are also described herein.

摘要: Graphenic carbon nanoparticles that are dispersed in solvents through the use of dispersant resins are disclosed. The graphenic carbon nanoparticles may be milled prior to dispersion. The dispersant resins may comprise a polymeric dispersant resin comprising an addition polymer comprising the residue of a vinyl heterocyclic amide, an addition polymer comprising a homopolymer, a block (co)polymer, a random (co)polymer, an alternating (co)polymer, a graft (co)polymer, a brush (co)polymer, a star (co)polymer, a telechelic (co)polymer, or a combination thereof. The solvents may be aqueous, non-aqueous, inorganic and/or organic solvents. The dispersions are highly stable and may contain relatively high loadings of the graphenic carbon nanoparticles.

摘要: A coating composition includes (a) a melamine resin having imino and methylol functional groups that together comprise 30 mole % or greater of the total functionality of the melamine resin; and (b) at least one polymer reactive with (a) that is obtained from components including polytetrahydrofuran and a carboxylic acid or anhydride thereof. The polytetrahydrofuran includes greater than 20 weight % of the components that form the polymer (b) and the carboxylic acid or anhydride thereof includes greater than 5 weight % of the components that form the polymer (b). The polymer (b) has an acid value of at least 15 based on the total resin solids of the polymer (b).

摘要: A computer-implemented method can provide a graphical user interface comprising one or more selectable elements for entering information about a paint job corresponding to repair of an asset that has been damaged. The method can also include receiving user input including: (i) a digital scan of the asset by a hand-held instrument: (ii) a digital image taken of a portion of the asset to be repainted; and (iii) a user time estimate that corresponds to an amount of time needed to repaint the asset. Upon final selection of color, the method can further include displaying on the graphical user interface a final estimate to refinish the asset, wherein the final estimate includes a cost of repainting the asset based on a volume and cost of paint determined from the received final color selection and received user input via the one or more initial input fields.

The film-forming resin, such as an acrylic or polyester resin, may have a Tg of 35° C. to 105° C. The over varnish composition may be suitable for coating a package, such as a metal can.

摘要: A system for monitoring a condition of an article including a conductive coating includes: a measurement device electrically connectable to the conductive coating of the article configured to sense an electrical property of the conductive coating; and a processor electrically connected to the measurement device. The processor is configured to: receive the sensed electrical property of the conductive coating from the measurement device; determine a resistance of the conductive coating based on the received sensed electrical property; determine an estimated remaining usable life of the article based on the determined resistance of the conductive coating; and generate an output signal representative of the determined estimated remaining usable life.
