摘要: An envelope tracking (ET) radio frequency (RF) front-end circuit receives a single tracking signal (e.g., Vramp) from a baseband transceiver and generates a plurality of control signals (Vcc). The control signals are created by a multiple control signal generator circuit based on a calculated load estimate for each relevant power amplifier. The load estimate may be calculated from a sensed current and voltage. By providing control signals optimized for loads presented to the power amplifiers, the overall efficiency of the transmitter is improved.

摘要: Embodiments of an amplifiers and integrated circuits include a first transistor and a second transistor. A second current-carrying terminal of the first transistor may be coupled to a first current-carrying terminal of the second transistor and the control terminal of the second transistor may be coupled to a low impedance alternating current (AC) potential node. A bias network that includes a first circuit element and a second circuit element couples the second current-carrying terminal of the second transistor to the control terminal of the second transistor. The first circuit element may be configured to apply a portion of a potential at the second current-carrying terminal of the second transistor to the control terminal of the second transistor, and the second circuit element may be coupled between the control terminal of the second transistor and a fixed potential.

摘要: The disclosed technology relates to a method for improving performance of a feedback circuit comprising an amplifier and a feedback network, wherein the feedback circuit has at least one tunable component. In one aspect, the method comprises measuring first amplitude values at an input of the amplifier and second amplitude values at an output of the amplifier, estimating a linear open-loop gain of the amplifier based on both the amplitude values, estimating a linear finite gain error based on the estimated gain and the second amplitude values, subtracting the linear finite gain error from the first amplitude values to derive a set of samples containing second error information, deriving an signal-to-noise-plus-distortion ratio estimate based on the variance of the set of samples and a variance of the second amplitude values, and adjusting the feedback circuit in accordance with the signal-to-noise-plus-distortion ratio estimate.

A level-shifting structure has a level-shifting element with one end connected to a reference connection, wherein the level-shifting element is adapted to perform a level-shifting of a potential at the second connection node with respect to a potential at the reference connection. The reference connection is coupled to one of the following: the amplifier output, the first connection node, a control terminal of the input transistor.

摘要: A multi-stage amplifier, comprising a first amplifier stage is presented. The output of the first amplifier stage is coupled to a first terminal of a capacitor having a controllable capacitance. The input of a second amplifier stage is coupled to the output of the first amplifier stage and the first terminal of the capacitor. The output of the second amplifier stage is coupled to a second terminal of the capacitor and an output of the multi-stage amplifier. The input of a current sensing circuit is coupled with the output of the multi-stage amplifier. A control signal generator is coupled between the output of the current sensing circuit and a control terminal of the capacitor. The control signal generator provides a control signal to the capacitor in order to control or vary the capacitance of the capacitor.

摘要: A distributed amplifier with improved stabilization includes an input transmission circuit, an output transmission circuit, at least one cascade amplifier coupled between said input and output transmission circuits. Each cascade amplifier includes a common-gate configured transistor coupled to the output transmission circuit, and a common-source configured transistor coupled between the input transmission circuit and the common-gate configured transistor. The distributed amplifier also includes a non-parasitic resistance and capacitance coupled in series between a drain and a gate of at least one of the common-gate configured transistors for increasing the amplifier stability.
