摘要: Methods described herein enable the production of numerous molecular species through decarboxylative cross-coupling via use of photoredox and transition metal catalysts. A method described herein, in some embodiments, comprises providing a reaction mixture including a photoredox catalyst, a transition metal catalyst, a coupling partner and a substrate having a carboxyl group. The reaction mixture is irradiated with a radiation source resulting in cross-coupling of the substrate and coupling partner via a mechanism including decarboxylation, wherein the coupling partner is selected from the group consisting of a substituted aromatic compound and a substituted aliphatic compound.

The monomer preferably is a high purity monomer. In the method for producing the methylene beta-ketoesters of the invention, a beta-ketoester may be reacted with a source of formaldehyde. The methylene beta-ketoester monomers may be used in monomer-based products (e.g., inks, adhesives, coatings, sealants or reactive molding) and polymer-based products (e.g., fibers, films, sheets, medical polymers, composite polymers and surfactants).

摘要: The present invention provides multifunctional monomers, including, but not limited to include multifunctional methylene malonate and methylene beta-ketoester monomers; methods for producing the same; and compositions and products formed therefrom. The multifunctional monomers of the invention may be produced by transesterification or by direct synthesis from monofunctional methylene malonate monomers or methylene beta-ketoester monomers. 摘要: The present teachings are directed at 1,1-disubstituted alkene monomers (e.g., methylene beta-diketone monomers), methods for producing the same, and compositions and products formed therefrom. In the method for producing the monomer, a beta-diketone is preferably reacted with a source of formaldehyde in a modified Knoevenagel reaction optionally in the presence of an acidic or basic catalyst, and optionally in the presence of an acidic or non-acidic solvent, to form reaction complex. The reaction complex may be an oligomeric complex. The reaction complex is subjected to vaporization in order to isolate the monomer. The monomer(s) may be employed in compositions and products, including monomer-based products (e.g., inks, adhesives, coatings, sealants or reactive molding) and polymer-based products (e.g., fibers, films, sheets, medical polymers, composite polymers and surfactants).

摘要: A method produces a 2′-trifluoromethyl-substituted aromatic ketone and includes reacting a 2-halogen-substituted benzotrifluoride compound with magnesium metal to convert the compound to a Grignard reagent; and reacting the Grignard reagent with an acid anhydride; and then hydrolyzing the resultant to produce a 2′-trifluoromethyl-substituted aromatic ketone. The method of producing a 2′-trifluoromethyl-substituted aromatic ketone enables 2′-trifluoromethyl-substituted aromatic ketone to be produced without using expensive raw materials by generating a Grignard reagent as an intermediate and reacting this Grignard reagent with an acid anhydride in an efficient productivity. The 2′-trifluoromethyl-substituted aromatic ketone that is produced by the method of producing a 2′-trifluoromethyl-substituted aromatic ketone can be used as fine chemicals, raw materials for pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals, raw materials for resins and plastics, electronics and information related materials, optical materials, and the like.

摘要: Disclosed is a method for preparing a compound of Formula 1 wherein Q and Z are as defined in the disclosure comprising distilling water from a mixture comprising a compound of Formula 2, a compound of Formula 3, a base comprising at least one compound selected from the group consisting of alkaline earth metal hydroxides of Formula 4 wherein M is Ca, Sr or Ba, alkali metal carbonates of Formula 4a wherein M1 is Li, Na or K, 1,5-diazabicyclo[4.3.0]non-5-ene and 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene, and an aprotic solvent capable of forming a low-boiling azeotrope with water. Also disclosed is a method for preparing a compound of Formula 2 comprising (1) forming a reaction mixture comprising a Grignard reagent derived from contacting a compound of Formula 5 wherein X is Cl, Br or I with magnesium metal or an alkylmagnesium halide in the presence of an ethereal solvent, and then (2) contacting the reaction mixture with a compound of Formula 6 wherein Y is OR11 or NR12R13, and R11, R12 and R13 are as defined in the disclosure. Further disclosed is a method for preparing a compound of Formula 7 wherein Q and Z are as defined in the disclosure, using a compound of Formula 1 characterized by preparing the compound of Formula 1 by the method disclosed above or using a compound of Formula 1 prepared by the method disclosed above.
