Abstract:
Technologies are generally described related to three-dimensional integration of integrated circuits (ICs) with spacing for heat dissipation. According to some examples, a self-aligned silicide may be formed in a temporary silicon layer and removed subsequent to bonding of the wafers to achieve improved contact between the combined ICs and enhanced heat dissipation through added spacing between the ICs.
Abstract:
Technologies are generally described that relate to managing and/or generating incentive data. An example method may include receiving a set of activity data associated with an entity. The method may also include generating incentive data for the entity based on a determination that an activity selected from the set of activity data is to be performed with respect to a target object and satisfies a rule of a set of rules associated with the target object, where the generating the incentive data is independent of a point of sale purchase of the target object.
Abstract:
Technologies are described for systems, devices and methods effective to decode data read from a memory. Coded data may be stored in a buffer. A parity check syndrome vector may be calculated by a bit flip module, based on the coded data and based on a parity matrix. The parity check syndrome vector may include unsatisfied bits. The parity check syndrome vector may be stored in the buffer. The bit flip module may calculate a speculated bit flip threshold based on a feature of the parity matrix. The bit flip module may determine, based on the parity check syndrome vector, a number of unsatisfied parity checks participated in by a particular bit of the coded data. The bit flip module may flip the particular bit in response to the number of unsatisfied parity checks for the particular bit being greater than or equal to the speculated bit flip threshold.
Abstract:
In an AR system, an AR display device may be configured to generate a virtual image that includes information provided by a computer device next to or overlaying a physical object that is observed by a user utilizing the AR system in real time.
Abstract:
A transmitting end of an Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) wireless communication system may generate a training sequence and attach the training sequence to a data sequence that contains information data. A receiving end of the OFDM wireless communication system may identify a starting position of the data sequence and further extract the data sequence.
Abstract:
Technologies are generally described related to electrical connectivity and heat mitigation in three dimensional integrated circuit (IC) integration through backside through silicon vias (TSVs) and micro-channels. In some examples, micro-channels may be formed in a wafer using a reactive ion etching (RIE) or similar fabrication process. Upon alignment and bonding of two wafers, selected micro-channels may be converted into TSVs by a further RIE or similar process and filled.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for producing butanol from carbon dioxide, and water are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of producing butanol from carbon dioxide and water involves contacting carbon dioxide with a reaction mixture containing water and a catalyst, and heating the carbon dioxide and reaction mixture by fluctuating magnetic field. In some embodiments, the catalyst used may be FeAl2O3.

Abstract:
Technologies are generally described for a system to process a collection of video recordings of a scene to extract and localize audio sources for the audio data. According to some examples, video recordings captured by mobile devices from different perspectives may be uploaded to a central database. Video segments capturing an overlapping portion of the scene at an overlapping time may be identified, and a relative location of each of the video capturing devices may be determined. Audio data for the video segments may be indexed with a sub-frame time reference and relative locations as a function of overlapping time. Using the indices that include the sub-frame time references and relative locations, audio sources for the audio data may be extracted and localized. The extracted audio sources may be transcribed and indexed to enable searching, and may be added back to each video recording as a separate audio channel.
Abstract:
A system to identity at least a property of a substance located in an object, or located on a surface of the object, is generally described. The system may include an electromagnetic radiation (EMR) source arranged to selectively emit EMR at more than one wavelength to illuminate the surface of the object. The system may include an EMR sensor arranged to sense EMR returned from the surface and to use the returned EMR to provide an output signal that represents an image taken of the surface, the image including a plurality of pixels. The system may include a processor system arranged to compare information that is indicative of the output signal of the EMR sensor with reference information indicative of the property of the substance. The processor system may be arranged to select a first wavelength to illuminate the surface by the EMR source, and subsequently select at least one further wavelength based on whether the information concerning the property is obtained as a result of use of a preceding wavelength. The processor system may be arranged to compensate fur an influence of ambient light on the at least one surface, and may be arranged to compensate for motion of the object relative to the EMR sensor.
