摘要: A method for manufacturing a display panel comprising light emitting device including micro LEDs includes providing multiple donor wafers having a surface region and forming an epitaxial material overlying the surface region. The epitaxial material includes an n-type region, an active region comprising at least one light emitting layer overlying the n-type region, and a p-type region overlying the active layer region. The multiple donor wafers are configured to emit different color emissions. The epitaxial material on the multiple donor wafers is patterned to form a plurality of dice, characterized by a first pitch between a pair of dice less than a design width. At least some of the dice are selectively transferred from the multiple donor wafers to a common carrier wafer such that the carrier wafer is configured with different color emitting LEDs. The different color LEDs could comprise red-green-blue LEDs to form a RGB display panel.

摘要: A distance detecting system for use in mobile machines comprises a gallium and nitrogen containing laser diode disposed within a light of a mobile machine. The gallium and nitrogen containing laser diode is configured to emit a first light with a first peak wavelength. A wavelength conversion member is configured to produce a white light. A first sensing light signal is based on the first peak wavelength. One or more optical elements are configured to direct at least partially the white light to illuminate one or more target objects or areas and to transmit respectively the first sensing light signal for sensing at least one remote point. A detector is configured to detect reflected signals of the first sensing light signal to determine coordinates of the at least one remote point.

摘要: The present disclosure provides an apparatus for generating fiber delivered laser-induced white light. The apparatus includes a package case enclosing a board member with an electrical connector through a cover member and a laser module configured to the board member inside the package case. The laser module comprises a support member, at least one laser diode device configured to emit a laser light of a first wavelength, a set of optics to guide the laser light towards an output port. Additionally, the apparatus includes a fiber assembly configured to receive the laser light from the output port for further delivering to a light head member disposed in a remote destination. A phosphor material disposed in the light head member receives the laser light exited from the fiber assembly to induce a phosphor emission of a second wavelength for producing a white light emission substantially reflected therefrom for various applications.

摘要: The present invention is directed to wearable display technologies. More specifically, various embodiments of the present invention provide wearable augmented reality glasses incorporating projection display systems where one or more laser diodes are used as light source for illustrating images with optical delivery to the eye using transparent waveguides. In one set of embodiments, the present invention provides wearable augmented reality glasses incorporating projector systems that utilize transparent waveguides and blue and/or green laser fabricated using gallium nitride containing material. In another set of embodiments, the present invention provides wearable augmented reality glasses incorporating projection systems having digital lighting processing engines illuminated by blue and/or green laser devices with optical delivery to the eye using transparent waveguides. In one embodiment, the present invention provides wearable augmented reality glasses incorporating a 3D display system with optical delivery to the eye using transparent waveguides. There are other embodiments as well.

摘要: A smart light source configured for visible light communication. The light source includes a controller comprising a modem configured to receive a data signal and generate a driving current and a modulation signal based on the data signal. Additionally, the light source includes a light emitter configured as a pump-light device to receive the driving current for producing a directional electromagnetic radiation with a first peak wavelength in the ultra-violet or blue wavelength regime modulated to carry the data signal using the modulation signal. Further, the light source includes a pathway configured to direct the directional electromagnetic radiation and a wavelength converter optically coupled to the pathway to receive the directional electromagnetic radiation and to output a white-color spectrum. Furthermore, the light source includes a beam shaper configured to direct the white-color spectrum for illuminating a target of interest and transmitting the data signal.

摘要: A method for manufacturing an optical device includes providing a carrier waver, provide a first substrate having a first surface region, and forming a first gallium and nitrogen containing epitaxial material overlying the first surface region. The first epitaxial material includes a first release material overlying the first substrate. The method also includes patterning the first epitaxial material to form a plurality of first dice arranged in an array; forming a first interface region overlying the first epitaxial material; bonding the first interface region of at least a fraction of the plurality of first dice to the carrier wafer to form bonded structures; releasing the bonded structures to transfer a first plurality of dice to the carrier wafer, the first plurality of dice transferred to the carrier wafer forming mesa regions on the carrier wafer; and forming an optical waveguide in each of the mesa regions, the optical waveguide configured as a cavity to form a laser diode of the electromagnetic radiation.

摘要: The embodiments described herein provide a high-luminous flux laser-based white light source. A plurality of laser packages are arranged in an array pattern on a common support member. The plurality of laser packages each include one or more laser diode devices and a phosphor member. The phosphor member converts a fraction of the electromagnetic radiation from each of the laser diode devices to an emitted electromagnetic radiation and a white light is outputted.

摘要: A light source system or apparatus configured with an infrared illumination source includes a gallium and nitrogen containing laser diode based white light source. The light source system includes a first pathway configured to direct directional electromagnetic radiation from the gallium and nitrogen containing laser diode to a first wavelength converter and to output a white light emission. In some embodiments infrared emitting laser diodes are included to generate the infrared illumination. In some embodiments infrared emitting wavelength converter members are included to generate the infrared illumination. In some embodiments a second wavelength converter is optically excited by a UV or blue emitting gallium and nitrogen containing laser diode, a laser diode operating in the long wavelength visible spectrum such as a green laser diode or a red laser diode, by a near infrared emitting laser diode, by the white light emission produced by the first wavelength converter, or by some combination thereof. A beam shaper may be configured to direct the white light emission and an infrared emission for illuminating a target of interest and transmitting a data signal. In some configurations, sensors and feedback loops are included.
