摘要: A pump for infusing fluid, the pump including a pumping mechanism, a fluid delivery device, a plurality of electric field sensors, and a measurement component. The plurality of electric field sensors is configured to estimate either an electric field that is associated with a patient, or an electric field that is associated with a fluid path of the pump, or both. The measurement component is configured to receive the electric field estimates from each of the electric field sensors and further configured to measure the difference between the electric field estimates.

摘要: A patch-sized fluid delivery device may include a reusable portion and a disposable portion. The disposable portion may include components that come into contact with the fluid, while the reusable portion may include only components that do not come into contact with the fluid. Redundant systems, such as redundant controllers, power sources, motor actuators, and alarms, may be provided. Alternatively or additionally, certain components can be multi-functional, such a microphones and loudspeakers that may be used for both acoustic volume sensing and for other functions and a coil that may be used as both an inductive coupler for a battery recharger and an antenna for a wireless transceiver. Various types of network interfaces may be provided in order to allow for remote control and monitoring of the device.

摘要: A system including a containment assembly for enclosing a medication container may comprise a first housing portion or interface portion having a proximal end and a distal end. The interface portion may include a housing wall which defines a channel spanning from the proximal end to the distal end. The channel may be open at the proximal and distal end. The containment assembly may further comprise only two pierceable septa configured to form a barrier to the channel. The containment assembly may further comprise a variable-volume housing portion having a variable volume chamber. The variable-volume portion chamber of the variable-volume housing portion may be in fluid communication with the distal end of the channel.

摘要: A fluid pumping system may comprise a pump and a fluid line state detector having, a receptacle, at sensor, and an illuminator. The system may further comprise a fluid transfer set including an output line for mating into the receptacle. The system may further comprise a controller in data communication with the fluid line state detector configured to power the illuminator and monitor an output signal of the sensor when the outlet line is in the receptacle to determine a dry tube light intensity value. The controller may be further configured to govern operation of the pump to prime the output line with fluid. The controller may be further configured to power the illuminator, monitor the output signal, and halt operation of the pump when the output signal indicates the light intensity value has dropped below a primed line threshold which is dependent upon the dry tube intensity value.

摘要: An occlusion assembly for compressing a pair of collapsible tubes comprises a frame comprising a tubing guide configured for positioning the collapsible tube. The occlusion assembly also comprises a tubing occluder mounted to the frame with an occluding member constructed and positioned to controllably occlude or release occlusion of the collapsible tube. A door mounted to the frame is positioned to cover at least a portion of the collapsible tube and tubing occluder when closed and provide user access when open. The assembly includes a retainer mechanism engaged by the door when the door is closed to permit operation of the tubing occluder when the door is closed and retain the tubing occluder in a non-occluding configuration when the door is opened.

摘要: A system and method for tissue perfusion to assess, maintain, mature, and possibly rehabilitate the tissue. The system of the present teachings includes a tissue enclosure having a fluid reservoir. Pumps, valves, and a controller move perfusate through the tissue. The system includes features to assist in monitoring the health of the tissue, and a removable tray to facilitate moving the tissue from a point of origin to the tissue enclosure. The system moves perfusate to and through the tissue, and provides nutrition to the tissue. The system includes an output flow rate/volume sensor, at least one infusion pump, disposable and durable parts, and a sensor suite.
