Abstract:
A water-soluble coating or other deposit is produced from a formulation that is comprised of a curable liquid substance and a dispersed particulate effervescing agent. The formulation is particularly useful as a solder resist in the manufacture of PCBs, and the preferred composition contains n-vinyl-2-pyrrolidone, N,N-dimethylacrylamide, and polyvinylpyrrolidone.
Abstract:
This invention describes a method of masking a workpiece to prevent the adhesion of a deposited tightly adhering conformal coating formed from the condensation of a vaporous diradical such as paraxylylene on selected portions of the workpiece. Specifically the process of the invention requires the covering of the areas of the workpiece, to which adhesion is not desired, with a non-polymerizing hydrocarbon and placing the covered area in close contact with an open cellular material containing a predominance of interconnecting cells which provides a large surface area for condensation of the unwanted condensate of the diradical, exposing the workpiece to the vaporous diradical, removing the workpiece from the open cellular material and immersing the workpiece in a solvent for swelling and dissolving the hydrocarbon covering.
Abstract:
The instant invention relates to a method of decorating an extruded plastic strip which is used for ornamental purposes. In the method of the invention, a plastic strip is passed through a pair of rollers which emboss the face thereof to be decorated with a raised design. The entire decorative face is then covered with a release agent from the top surface of the raised design. A coloring material is then applied to the entire decorative surface. Excess coloring and the release agent are thereafter washed, peeled, or otherwise removed from the strip. The design is then highlighted by the coloring material thereupon.
Abstract:
A protective, sacrificial, water-reversible, coating composition for the protection of substrates comprised of water, a volatile base, a film-forming acrylic polymer in a water dispersion form, a compatabilizing polymer, specifically poly (2-ethyl-2-oxazoline), a poly acidic polymer (pH specific in terms of its solubility), wherein said coating is both water applied and water reversible or re-soluble under specific pH conditions.
Abstract:
In various embodiments novel coatings for the protection of a paint booth are provided. In certain embodiments the coatings comprise a maltodextrin, a humectant; and pH adjuster. In certain embodiments the coatings can optionally additionally comprise a thickener, and/or a defoamer, and/or a surfactant and/or one or more preservatives. In certain embodiments the coating is a clear coating comprising a maltodextrin, a thickener (e.g., an xanthan gum thickener), a defoamer (e.g., a silicone defoamer), a surfactant (e.g., a nonionic surfactant such as an ethoxylated alcohol surfactant), a humectant (e.g., glycerine), a pH adjuster/humectant (e.g., triethanolamine), and one or more preservatives (e.g., of a combination of as 5-chloro-2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-3-one and 2-methyl-4-isothiazolin-4-one (KATHON LX®), an aqueous dipropylene glycol solution of 1,2-benzisothiazolin-3-one (PROXEL GXL®), potassium metabisulfite, etc.).
Abstract:
This invention provides a masking material that can be used to protect an underling surface (e.g. an automobile surface) during an overcoating (e.g. painting) operation. The masking material in one embodiment includes a thickener and a pH control agent and water. The masking material can be applied to a surface that is to be protected from paint overspray or other coating processes, allowed to dry, and the surface then coated (e.g. with paint). After drying of the paint, or other coating, the masking material can removed by water washing.
Abstract:
The invention is directed to an in vitro method for introducing one or more insertion mutations and/or one or more deletion mutations in a nucleic acid sequence encoding a polypeptide. The method comprises contacting a cell in vitro with a nucleic acid sequence, and expressing Activation Induced Cytidine Deaminase (AID) in the cell. The invention also is directed to a method of producing an immunoglobulin.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to methods and systems for synthesis of bridged-hydropentacene, hydroanthracene and hydrotetracene from the precursor compounds pentacene derivatives, tetracene derivatives, and anthracene derivatives. The invention further relates to are methods and systems for forming thin films for use in electrically conductive assemblies, such as semiconductors or photovoltaic devices.
