摘要: A process for fabricating a three-dimensional, multi-layered fabric product with a moisture barrier is provided. A partially seamed inner lining fabric assembly having at least a two-dimensional shape is laminated with a membrane barrier film having flaps left un-laminated to cover at least one seam. The inner lining fabric assembly is further seamed and flaps of the of the membrane barrier film overlapped into contact with each other and sealed to provide a continuous moisture barrier. A process for fabricating a stretchable section of a garment with a moisture barrier is also provided. At least a section of a garment is formed from fibers arranged in a pattern having a direction of stretch in one direction and a three-dimensional surface texture such that a portion of the fibers protrude above another portion of the fibers. The stretchable section is stretched in the direction of stretch. Segments of a membrane barrier film are adhered to an outer edge of the protruding portion of the fibers while the section is stretched in the direction of stretch, leaving intermediate segments of the barrier film free from adherence to the section. In this way, the intermediate segments of the membrane barrier film include slack that folds up to form ruches when the section is in a relaxed state.

摘要: A composite structure including at least one paper web layer bonded to at least one nonwoven web layer by a hydroentanglement process. The paper web layer is made of natural fibers processed to have a specified kappa number depending on desired smoothness and hydrophilicity of the composite structure. In an exemplary embodiment, the paper web layer is made of a structured paper web, and the structure of the paper web is imparted to the nonwoven web layer by the hydroentanglement process. In an exemplary embodiment, the composite structure is a wipe product, comprised of a two or three layer structure, with at least one natural fiber layer. Higher machine speeds to produce a two-layer composite web comprised of one natural fiber web is achieved using a protective layer during the hydro-entangling process.

摘要: A laminate of an at least partially reticulated thermoplastic film joined to an extensible carrier. The reticulated thermoplastic film includes a backing with openings and discrete elements protruding from the first major surface. There are two discrete elements aligned in a first direction abutting opposite ends of any given opening. In a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, there is one discrete element between the given opening and an adjacent opening aligned in the second direction. Each portion of the thermoplastic backing around the given opening is plastically deformed in its lengthwise direction. A method of making a laminate is also disclosed. The method includes stretching a thermoplastic backing having a plurality of discrete elements in the first direction and laminating the backing to an extensible carrier. Subsequently stretching the laminate in a second direction forms a tear in the thermoplastic backing between two adjacent of the discrete elements.

In some instances, articles that can be used in an as-produced state may provide a desired sound absorption coefficient or a desired flame spread index, e.g., less than or equal to 25 as tested by ASTM E84 dated 2009. Methods of producing the articles are also described.

摘要: Provided is a water absorbent laminate including: a first fiber layer including a first fiber assembly including first hydrophilic fibers; and a second fiber layer including a second fiber assembly including wet-heat-adhesive fibers in an amount greater than or equal to 80% by mass, wherein a surface of the first fiber layer on a side opposite to the second fiber layer has a water absorption rate less than or equal to 10 seconds as determined in accordance with the dropping method defined in JIS L 1907. Also provided is a method for producing the water absorbent laminate. The water absorbent laminate can further include a third fiber layer including a third fiber assembly including second hydrophilic fibers between the first fiber layer and the second fiber layer.
