摘要: Methods, devices, and systems may use a kinetic model to determine physiological parameters related to the kinetics of red blood cell glycation, elimination, and generation. Such physiological parameters can be used, for example, to determine a more reliable calculated HbA1c. In another example, a method may comprise: receiving a plurality of glucose levels over a time period; receiving a glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) level corresponding to an end of the time period; determining at least one physiological parameter selected from the group consisting of: a red blood cell glycation rate constant (kgly), a red blood cell generation rate constant (kgen), a red blood cell elimination constant (kage), and an apparent glycation constant (K), based on (1) the plurality of glucose levels and (2) the HbA1c level; and adjusting a glucose level target based on the at least one physiological parameter.

摘要: The present invention describes methods of identifying, detecting, imaging, isolating and locating cancer cells in a subject. The method involves the use of near-infrared (NIR) organic carbocyanine dyes, particularly, near infrared heptamethine cyanine dyes and the detection of the fluorescence of these NIR dyes. The uptake of these dyes by cancer cells and not by normal cells, as well as their high intensity, among other things, allow for the detection of cancerous cells in a subject and facilitate their subsequent isolation. Further, detection of many tumor types and tumor cell populations under cell culture and in vivo conditions are described.

摘要: A computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer program product of determining mechanisms of action for therapies. A first set of brain scans for each subject in a plurality of subjects generated at a first time period and a second set of brain scans for each subject generated at a second time period are received. Each subject is diagnosed with a given condition and received a given therapy. A set of changes in the set of brain scans is identified for the each subject based on a comparison of a first set of regions of interest in the first set of scans for each subject with a second set of regions of interest in the second set of scans for each subject. A set of typical changes attributable to the given therapy is identified. A mechanism of action for the given therapy is generated based on the set of typical changes.

摘要: Level of fatigue that accompanies everyday life or a disease can be simply, easily, and quantitatively assessed by obtaining a body fluid from a test subject and measuring the amount of human herpesvirus in the body fluid. Furthermore, the anti-fatigue potency of anti-fatigue substances and anti-fatigue food products can be measured.

摘要: An apparatus for analyzing a subject including a hyperspectral image module is provided. It is used to identify a suspect region of a subject by using a hyperspectral sensor (for obtaining a hyperspectral image of the subject), a control computer including a processor unit (PU) and a computer readable memory (CRM) (for controlling and is in electronic communication with the sensor), a control software module including instructions stored in the CRM and executed by the PU (for controlling said at least one operating parameter of the sensor), a spectral calibrator module including instructions stored in the CRM and executed by the PU (for applying a wavelength dependent spectral calibration standard constructed for the sensor to a hyperspectral image), and a light source for illuminating the subject. An optional contact probe module is used to collect a signal of the suspect region for medical diagnosis.

摘要: Disclosed are various methods and devices for facilitating medical and/or procedures that are performed without “general anesthesia,” which is also described in the specification as the state of patient “unconsciousness” resulting from a drug administered by an anesthetist or anesthesiologist. The devices safely and effectively provide and maintain drug infusions that do not push the patient into unconsciousness and/or general anesthesia. Devices according to embodiments of the invention include the use of stored parameters and/or values that correlate to drug delivery during a procedure, and a patient health monitor to measure and send signals regarding a patient health condition to a processor or other computational device.
