Abstract: This invention provides conformal antenna structures, how to make and use the antenna structures, and systems in which the antenna structures may be used for biometric sensing of humans and other animals. The antenna structures of the invention includes at least one relatively flexible section connecting relatively rigid sections. The relatively flexible section connecting relatively rigid sections may flex so that the relatively rigid sections connected to the relatively flexible section can change orientation relative to one another. This allows the relatively rigid sections to be conformed to a region of a surface of a human or animal that is not flat (that is curved).

Abstract: A circuit interconnect may be used in biometric data sensing and feedback applications. A circuit interconnect may be used in device device-to-device connections (e.g., Internet of Things (IoT) devices), including applications that require connection between stretchable and rigid substrates. A circuit interconnect may include a multi-pin, snap-fit attachment mechanism, where the attachment mechanism provides an electrical interconnection between a rigid substrate and a flexible or stretchable substrate. The combination of a circuit interconnect and flexible or stretchable substrate provides improved electrical connection reliability, allows for greater stretchability and flexibility of the circuit traces, and allows for more options in connecting a stretchable circuit trace to a rigid PCB.

Abstract: A headset for defecting brain electrical activity may include a flexible substrate having first and second ends each configured to engage an ear of a subject and dimensioned to fit across the forehead of a subject. The headset may also include a plurality of electrodes disposed on the substrate and configured to contact the subject when the headset is positioned on the subject. First and second electrodes may contact top center and lower center regions of the forehead, respectively, third and fourth electrodes may contact front right and front left regions of the forehead, respectively, fifth and sixth electrodes may contact right side and left side regions of the forehead, respectively, and electrodes included within the securing devices may contact the ear regions. The third and fourth electrodes may be moveable in at least a vertical direction relative to the other electrodes.

Abstract: An implantable monitoring device includes a flexible lead body that includes at least one sensing element. The device also includes a rigid main body connected to the flexible lead body at an attachment point. The rigid main body is generally centered about a longitudinal axis defined by the flexible lead body when the lead body is unflexed. The device further includes a measurement circuit, which is housed within the rigid main body and electrically coupled to the at least one sensing element of the flexible lead body and at least another sensing element on an outside surface of the rigid main body. The measurement circuit is configured to measure a potential difference between the at least one sensing element of the flexible lead body and the at least another sensing element of the main body.
