    摘要: An exhaust emission control system of an internal combustion engine desorbs SOx by reversing a flow of an exhaust gas through an NOx storage-reduction catalyst, of which a structure is simplified as follows. A first exhaust pipe connected to an engine is connected to a first port of an emission switching valve having four ports. A second exhaust pipe 10, through which the exhaust gas is discharged into the atmospheric air, is connected to a second port, a third exhaust pipe connected to an inlet of a catalytic converter is connected to a third port. A fourth exhaust pipe connected to an outlet of the catalytic converter 30 is connected to a fourth port. When the emission switching valve is set in a forward flow position, the first exhaust pipe is connected to the third exhaust pipe, and the second exhaust pipe is connected to the fourth exhaust pipe, whereby the exhaust gas flows toward the outlet from the inlet within the catalytic converter. When the emission switching valve is set in a backward flow position, the first exhaust pipe is connected to the fourth exhaust pipe, and the second exhaust pipe is connected to the third exhaust pipe, whereby the exhaust gas flows toward the inlet from the outlet within the catalytic converter.

    摘要: A cold-cathode tube has hitherto been used as a backlight for supplying illumination to a liquid crystal television but recently, light emitting diode pieces have been used for a backlight of a large-size liquid crystal television. For the purpose of improving the emission efficiency, flip chip mounting of the light emitting diode piece is advantageous but the mounting yield is restricted by the piece size, electrode structure and wire pattern structure, facing situations having difficulties in realizing simplified mounting and reduction of costs of members. In a liquid crystal display apparatus having a liquid crystal panel, an optical system and a light source, the light source includes a light emitting element structure having positive and negative electrodes, at least one of them being plural, and wires mounted to the positive and negative electrodes through flip chip mounting by making electrical correspondence to individual regions of the positive and negative electrodes.

    摘要: The present invention provides an illumination device capable of improving an efficiency of acquiring light emitted by light emitting diodes, which are provided in a light source module and used as a light source, and capable of achieving a uniform luminance distribution, and provides a liquid crystal display device using the illumination device. The illumination device includes a circuit board, red, green and blue light emitting diodes, and a lens body. Each red, green and blue light emitting diode is mounted on the circuit board and connected with a wiring pattern formed on the circuit board. The lens covers the red, green and blue light emitting diodes, and includes first portions each having two first side surfaces and second portions each having two second side surfaces. The first and second portions are alternately arranged. A distance between the first side surfaces is larger than a distance between the second side surfaces. The three red, green and blue light emitting diodes are provided in each first portion of the lens.

    摘要: The present invention provides a low-cost and highly heat-radiating lighting system and a display apparatus using the same. The lighting system has a plurality of packages, each containing LEDs, lead frames and a transparent sealing material, a heat-radiating substrate and an adhesive layer adapted to bond the packages and the heat-radiating substrate. The lead frames are 0.1 mm or more in thickness. Further, the area of the surfaces of the heat-radiating substrate and the lead frames bonded together via the adhesive layer is 70 mm2 per 1 mm2 area of the LEDs. The display apparatus of the present invention uses the lighting system as the backlight thereof.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display (LCD) panel with a backlight module including a light-emitting diode (LED)-based illumination device is disclosed. The illumination device includes more than one LED of the waveguide type for use as a light source of the backlight. The LCD panel includes a pair of substrates, a liquid crystal (LC) layer interposed between these substrates, and a polarization plate. Output light of the LED is linearly polarized in advance. A waveguide is arranged for giving off polarized light components from the LED only in a chosen direction to thereby permit incidence in parallel with a polarized light transmission direction of the LCD polarizer plate. The LED is amounted and arranged so that the polarized light transmission direction of the polarizer plate is the same as the polarization direction through an optical system associated therewith.
