摘要: An oxidation catalyst is described for treating an exhaust gas produced by a diesel engine comprising a catalytic region and a substrate, wherein the catalytic region comprises a catalytic material comprising: bismuth (Bi) or an oxide thereof; an alkali metal or an oxide thereof; a platinum group metal (PGM) selected from the group consisting of (i) platinum (Pt), (ii) palladium (Pd) and (iii) platinum (Pt) and palladium (Pd); and a support material comprising a mixed oxide of alumina and silica, a mixed oxide of silica and a refractory oxide, a composite oxide of alumina and silica, a composite oxide of silica and a refractory oxide, alumina doped with a silica or silica doped with a refractory oxide.

摘要: A catalytic article having a flow-through substrate having an inlet, an outlet, and an axial length; an SCR zone containing a first SCR catalyst; and an oxidation zone containing (a) an ASC zone and a DOC zone or (b) a mixed ASC and DOC zone, where the oxidation zone contains an ammonia oxidation catalyst and a DOC catalyst, the SCR zone is positioned on the substrate from the inlet end and extends less than the axial length of the substrate from the inlet, the DOC zone or the mixed ASC and DOC zone is position on the substrate from the outlet end, and when the DOC zone is present, the ASC zone is located between the SCR zone and the DOC zone. In other catalytic articles, the ASC zone further comprises a DEC catalyst. Methods of using the catalytic articles in an SCR process, where the amount of ammonia slip is reduced, are also described.

摘要: A hydrocarbon trap catalyst and method of forming the same are disclosed. The method may include introducing copper into a zeolite at 10% to 75% of an ion-exchange level of the zeolite, introducing at least one of nickel and manganese into a zeolite at 50% to 100% total of an ion-exchange level of the zeolite, and applying a three-way catalyst layer. The copper and nickel and/or manganese may be introduced into a single zeolite or the copper may be introduced into a first zeolite layer and the nickel and/or manganese may be introduced into a second zeolite layer. If copper and another metal are introduced into the same zeolite, copper may be introduced first. The disclosed trap catalyst may increase the release temperature of hydrocarbons such as ethanol, propylene and toluene, and thus reduce vehicle cold start tailpipe emissions.

摘要: An exhaust gas purification method by which carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbon (HC), and nitrogen oxide (NOx), particularly NOx, which are hazardous components contained in an exhaust gas can be removed efficiently. The disclosure relates to a catalyst for exhaust gas purification including: a three-dimensional structure; and a catalyst component layer composed of one or more constituting layers on the three-dimensional structure, wherein the catalyst component layer contains (a) a noble metal-unsupported alumina having mesopores, (b) NOx storage material-supported cerium, (c) a refractory inorganic oxide, and (d) a noble metal, and the constituting layer of the uppermost surface among the one or more constituting layers contains (a) the noble metal-unsupported alumina and (b) the NOx storage material-supported cerium, a method for producing the same, and an exhaust gas purification method using the catalyst.

摘要: Zero-Rare Earth Metal (ZREM) and Zero-platinum group metals (ZPGM) compositions of varied binary spinel oxides are disclosed as oxygen storage material (OSM) to be used within TWC systems. The ZREM-ZPGM OSM systems comprise binary non-Cu spinel oxides of Co—Fe, Fe—Mn, Co—Mn, or Mn—Fe. The oxygen storage capacity (OSC) property associated with the non-Cu ZREM-ZPGM OSM systems is determined employing isothermal OSC oscillating condition testing. Further, the OSC test results compare the OSC properties of a ZREM-ZPGM reference OSM system including a Cu—Mn binary spinel oxide and PGM reference catalysts including Ce-based OSMs. The non-Cu spinel oxides ZREM-ZPGM OSM systems exhibit significantly improved OSC properties, which are greater than the OSC property of the Ce-based OSM PGM reference systems.

摘要: An object is to provide an exhaust gas purification catalyst for an internal combustion engine that can achieve a higher exhaust gas purification performance and a higher engine output performance. A catalyst layer is disposed in an exhaust gas passage, formed on a surface of the substrate, and includes: a first catalyst layer exposed to an exhaust gas flow; and a second catalyst layer formed between the first catalyst layer and the substrate. A catalyst component supported on the first catalyst layer includes rhodium. A catalyst component supported on the second catalyst layer includes at least one of palladium and platinum. The first catalyst layer is formed such that a density of the rhodium supported thereon decreases in a step-like manner through a plurality of segment zones segmented along an exhaust gas flow direction, and the second catalyst layer is formed such that a density of the palladium or the platinum supported thereon decreases in a step-like manner through a plurality of segment zones segmented along the exhaust gas flow direction.

摘要: Hydrocarbon (HC) traps are disclosed. The HC trap may include a first zeolite material having an average pore diameter of at least 5.0 angstroms and configured to trap hydrocarbons from an exhaust stream and to release at least a portion of the trapped hydrocarbons at a temperature of at least 225° C. The HC trap may also include a second zeolite material having an average pore diameter of less than 5.0 angstroms or larger than 7.0 angstroms. One or both of the zeolite materials may include metal ions, such as transition, Group 1A, or platinum group metals. The HC trap may include two or more discrete layers of zeolite materials or the two or more zeolite materials may be mixed. The multiple zeolite HC trap may form coke molecules having a relatively low combustion temperature, such as below 500° C.
