摘要: An aseismic composite pier includes one or more column limbs and waveform steel plates, wherein the adjacent column limbs are connected through a waveform steel plate to form a boxlike pier body. The wave direction of the waveform steel plate is along the longitudinal direction of the pier body. The column limbs sustain the longitudinal pressure and the bending moment, while the waveform steel plate sustain the horizontal shearing force. As a result, the flexural stability of the column limb, and the overall horizontal shearing resistance and the deformability of the pier are improved, and thus this kind of structure is suitable for piers with various heights; Moreover, the clear separation of the roles of the waveform steel plates and the column limbs improves the service efficiency of the materials.

The cold trap is set to a temperature that condenses the contamination gas but does not condense the process gas. Cold traps may be used in the sample chamber and in the gas line.

摘要: Curtaining artifacts on high aspect ratio features are reduced by reducing the distance between a protective layer and feature of interest. For example, the ion beam can mill at an angle to the work piece surface to create a sloped surface. A protective layer is deposited onto the sloped surface, and the ion beam mills through the protective layer to expose the feature of interest for analysis. The sloped mill positions the protective layer close to the feature of interest to reduce curtaining.

摘要: A specimen holder for a Charged Particle Microscope is disclosed. The holder has a support structure with an elongated member including a specimen mounting zone. The specimen mounting zone comprises a rotor with an axis perpendicular to the elongated member with a paddle connected to it which may be rotated. Specimens may be mounted on the paddle so that rotation of the paddle allows specimens to be rotated and/or inverted for microscopic observation on both sides. Specimens may either be directly mounted on the paddle, or on a grid, half-moon grid, lift-out grid, aperture frame, dielectric film, etc.

摘要: A method and apparatus for use in surface delayering for fault isolation and defect localization of a sample work piece is provided. More particularly, a method and apparatus for mechanically peeling of one or more layers from the sample in a rapid, controlled, and accurate manner is provided. A programmable actuator includes a delayering probe tip with a cutting edge that is shaped to quickly and accurately peel away a layer of material from a sample. The cutting face of the delayering probe tip is configured so that each peeling step peels away an area of material having a linear dimension substantially equal to the linear dimension of the delayering probe tip cutting face. The surface delayering may take place inside a vacuum chamber so that the target area of the sample can be observed in-situ with FIB/SEM imaging.

摘要: A method and apparatus are provided for identifying a material with a sample-specific reference spectral list or library. A sequential approach to SEM-EDS automated mineralogy classification is carried out by performing two or more material classification analyses. A pre-classification step restricts the processing of spectra deconvolution algorithms to a subset of spectra that pass a dominant mineral criteria resulting in a significantly reduced subset of reference spectra that occur within the measured sample in pure enough form at a given minimum quantity. The following complex classification stages involving deconvolution of multiple constituents within measured spectra is based on this sample relevant subset.

摘要: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to methods for providing captioned telephone service. One method includes initiating a first captioned telephone service call. During the first captioned telephone service call, a first set of captions is created using a human captioner. Simultaneous with creating the first set of captions using a human captioner, a second set of captions is created using an automated speech recognition captioner. The first set of captions and the second set of captions are compared using a scoring algorithm. In response to the score of second set of captions being within predetermined range of scores, the call is continued using only the automated speech recognition captioner. In response to the score of second set of captions being outside of a predetermined range of scores, the call is continued using a human captioner.
