Abstract: A power conversion device which converts power from a power supply and supplies the converted power to a load, includes: a first inverter including first capacitors and a plurality of switching elements; a second inverter including a plurality of switching elements, and second capacitors to which voltages smaller than voltages of the first capacitors are applied; and a control device. Abstract: A common-mode voltage suppression method includes: selecting two large and two small vectors with low common-mode voltage magnitudes as basic voltage vectors; writing a volt-second balance equation according to a selected basic voltage vectors, and calculating, an introduced distribution factor of duty cycles of small vectors, initial values of distribution factors of a duty cycle of each basic voltage vector and of small vectors; designing a neutral-point voltage balance controller to obtain and utilize a corrected value of the distribution factor of the duty cycles of the small vectors and the initial values and combine with a set neutral-point voltage balance control threshold to update the duty cycle of each basic voltage vector; and inserting shoot-through states into the small vectors, designing a switching sequence, converting the sequence into a driving signal of a power switch, and controlling an operation of the quasi-Z-source simplified three-level inverter.

Each of the individual chassis may be configured to be stackable together into a single line replaceable unit (LRU). Each of the individual chassis may have an identically shaped outer frame.

Abstract: Methods and devices for sensing current through a power converter circuit are presented. According to one aspect, currents through high-/low-side transistors are sensed via respective reduced size replica transistors. According to another aspect, the sensed currents are used to generate bridging currents that are combined with the sensed currents to generate a continuous current sense signal. According to another aspect, the bridging currents include slopes that are generated from slopes of the sensed currents. According to another aspect, the sensed currents are combined and filtered to generate a continuous sense signal. According to another aspect, the continuous current sense signal is a voltage that is compared to a reference voltage to generate a current limit status flag used to control operation of the power converter circuit. According to other aspects, the current sense voltage is used to control ON/OFF duty cycle of the power converter circuit.

Abstract: The concepts described herein provide a method, apparatus, and system for controlling an inverter by modifying duty cycles of the PWM control signals in a manner that achieves a minimum duration between consecutive switching events in the inverter, which serves to reduce common mode current in the bearing(s) of an attached rotary electric machine.
