Abstract:
A well treatment composition for use in a hydrocarbon-bearing reservoir comprising a reversible aminal gel composition is disclosed. The reversible aminal gel composition includes a liquid precursor composition. The liquid precursor composition is operable to remain in a liquid state at about room temperature. The liquid precursor composition comprises an organic amine composition; an aldehyde composition; a polar aprotic organic solvent; and a metal salt composition with valence 3, 4, or 5. The liquid precursor composition transitions from the liquid state to a gel state responsive to an increase in temperature in the hydrocarbon-bearing reservoir. The gel state is stable in the hydrocarbon-bearing reservoir at a temperature similar to a temperature of the hydrocarbon-bearing reservoir, and the gel state is operable to return to the liquid state responsive to a change in the hydrocarbon-bearing reservoir selected from the group consisting of: a decrease in pH in the hydrocarbon-bearing reservoir and an addition of excess metal salt composition in the hydrocarbon-bearing reservoir.

The present invention has an object to obtain a polyimide film that has a sufficiently smooth surface without peeling even in a case where the polyimide film is a thick film and that is excellent in adhesion to an inorganic substrate. An alkoxysilane-modified polyamic acid solution of the present invention contains: an alkoxysilane-modified polyamic acid; and a surface control agent, the alkoxysilane-modified polyamic acid solution having a specific viscosity, the alkoxysilane-modified polyamic acid being obtained by reacting a polyamic acid with an alkoxysilane compound containing an amino group, and the polyamic acid being obtained by reacting a diamine with a tetracarboxylic dianhydride.

A method for making a single ion nanoconductor is disclosed. In the method, a solution of nano sol is formed through a hydrolysis reaction. A silane coupling agent is added in the solution of nano sol, and heated in a protective gas to have a reaction thereby obtaining a solution of C═C group grafted nano sol. A methyl methacrylate monomer, an acrylic acid monomer, and an initiator are added to the solution of C═C group grafted nano sol, and heated to have a reaction thereby forming a nano sol-P(AA -MMA) composite. The nano sol-P(AA-MMA) composite is heated at an elevated pressure in a liquid phase medium to obtain a dehydroxy crystalline oxide nanoparticle-P(AA-MMA) composite. The dehydroxy crystalline oxide nanoparticle-P(AA-MMA) composite and lithium hydroxide are mixed and heated in an organic solvent to obtain the liquid dispersion of single ion nanoconductors.

A description is given of a nonaqueous sound deadener composition comprising (a) a nonpulverulent polyacrylate binder having a K value in the range from 10 to 35, measured as a 1% strength solution in tetrahydrofuran; (b) inorganic fillers; and a radically polymerizable compound which has at least one radically polymerizable C—C double bond and possesses a boiling point at atmospheric pressure of greater than 160° C. Also described is a method for damping oscillations or vibrations of components of vehicles and machines, using the sound deadener composition of the invention.

Hydroxypolyamides, hydroxypolyamide products, and post-hydroxypolyamides are disclosed as gel forming agents. Hydroxypolyamides and post-hydroxypolyamides are prepared from known methods. Hydroxypolyamide products are produced from a modified polymerization procedure which utilizes strong base for deprotonation of ammonium salts from the esterification of stoichiometrically equivalent polyacid:polyamine salts. The hydroxypolyamide products are capable of gel formation at lower concentrations than hydroxypolyamides and post-hydroxypolyamides from the known methods of preparation, and are therefore superior gel forming agents.

The mechanical properties of urea formaldehyde resins may be improved by incorporating therein polyvinyl alcohol. The polyvinyl alcohol may be incorporated during pre-mixing, mid mixing, and/or post mixing of the resin components. Resins prepared using polyvinyl alcohol are particularly desirable in articles requiring improved mechanical strength and water resistance, as compared to similar resins prepared without the polyvinyl alcohol such as shingles.
