    摘要: In order to provide an intake flow rate detecting apparatus of an internal combustion engine which accurately compensates for an air flow meter detection error due to intake pulsation so as to make it possible to detect an intake flow rate more accurately, regardless of the of type of flow rate control mechanism, an intake flow rate detecting apparatus according to one embodiment of the invention includes a throttle valve which is provided in an intake passage and which adjusts a rate of the air that is taken into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine, at least one flow rate control mechanisms which are provided between the throttle valve and the combustion chamber and which control an air flow rate between the throttle valve and the combustion chamber, and a flow rate sensor which is provided upstream of the throttle valve in the intake passage and which detects a flow rate of air flowing through the intake passage. The intake flow rate detecting apparatus corrects a detection value of the flow rate sensor based on an opening of the throttle valve, an operation amount of the flow rate control mechanism and a speed of the internal combustion engine so as to detect a rate of air which is actually taken into the combustion chamber.

    摘要: A compression ignition engine (60) has a control system (66) for processing data, one or more combustion chambers (62), and fuel injectors (64) for injecting fuel into the chambers. The control system controls fueling using a result of the processing of certain data, such as engine speed and engine load, to select one of three fueling modes (HCCI+RVT, HCCI+VVT, CD+RVT) for operating the engine. When the result of the processing selects the HCCI+RVT mode, intake valves operate with regular valve timing (RVT), and the engine is fueled to cause homogeneous-charge compression-ignition (HCCI) combustion. When the result of the processing selects the HCCI+VVT mode, intake valve timing is changed relative to RVT, and the engine is fueled to cause HCCI combustion. When the result of the processing selects the CD+RVT mode, the intake valves operate with RVT, and the engine is fueled to cause CD combustion.

    摘要: An engine for a marine drive has a combustion chamber. An engine body of the engine defines an air intake port communicating with the combustion chamber. An air induction device communicates with the air intake port to introduce air to the combustion chamber through the air intake port. The air induction device includes a throttle valve to regulate an amount of the air. An air intake valve moves between an opening position and a closing position of the intake port. A camshaft actuates the intake valve. A VVT mechanism changes an actuating timing of the camshaft at which the camshaft actuates the intake valve. A control device controls the change mechanism. A throttle position sensor, an intake pressure or other sensors sends respective signals to the control device. The control device determines a sudden acceleration state of the engine based upon at least one of the signals. The control device triggers the VVT mechanism to advance the actuating timing based only upon the throttle opening degree signal when the control device determines the sudden acceleration state.

    摘要: A valve actuating apparatus for an internal combustion engine selectively operating in the normal Otto cycle or the Miller cycle is provided which enables the engine to achieve stable combustion and improved fuel economy during cruising or in a low-load engine operating region. A delayed-closing cam for Miller cycle operation and a normal cam having a cam profile for earlier valve-closing timing of the intake valve than a cam profile of the delayed-closing cam are provided on a camshaft. A cam profile-switching mechanism switches between the delayed-closing cam and the normal cam, for opening and closing the intake valve. An ECU controls the switching mechanism such that when a detected operating condition of the engine indicates starting or idling, the intake valve is operated by the normal cam, and when the detected operating condition indicates cruising, the intake valve is operated by the delayed-closing cam.

    摘要: A method for equalizing the filling of cylinders of a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine (14) comprising a fully variable mechanical valve train (20) having an adjusting shaft (1) that controls the valve lift of the inlet valves of a cylinder bank and can be rotated together with its rotationally fixed adjusting cam (2) by an electromechanical actuator (3) whereby an equalization of the filling of the individual cylinders is achieved by the fact that filling-dependent engine data are measured by a sensor (16) while the engine (14) is running and are processed using suitable software in a control device (15) into signals with which the actuator (3) rotates the adjusting shaft (1) selectively for each cylinder in keeping with the opening phase and thus regulates the lift and the time cross-section of the individual inlet valves and, as a consequence, also the filling of the individual cylinders to a desired set value.
