    摘要: A process for the construction of a bulk container including a glued bottom portion. A blank is suspended in the shape of the desired container and is positioned over a bottom portion. Adhesive or glue is applied to the bottom portion in areas which will contact the blank. The blank is lowered into contact with the blank and fins are formed. The fins are either folded, cut and/or secured to complete the container in one of several ways.

    摘要: The vessel portion of a gas-tight container suitable for packaging fresh foods is produced as a composite of paperboard and polymer film. A pair of folded paperboard blanks, pre-cut and pre-formed, are inserted into the opposite halves of split mold elements to a blow molding machine. Vacuum orifices in each mold half unit temporarily secure the position of a respective paperboard blank. The paperboard lined mold halves are closed upon a hot, extruded parison of malleable polymer leaving an end portion of the parison tube projecting from the closed mold unit. A fluid conducting needle penetrates this projected end portion to inflate the parison with an apppropriate blowing gas. Such inflation expands the malleable polymer, seamlessly and creaselessly, into the internal corners and crevices of the folded paperboard blanks. Following chilling, the mold unit is opened and the pair of paperboard blanks are ejected as a singular unit, joined by a molded flange of the continuous polymer film. Finally, the two polymer coated paperboard vessels are separated by trimming about the flange.

The carton is composed of two superimposed layers adhesively secured at a joint line at lapped edges. The outer layer is slit along its front surface parallel to the carton ends and along upwardly extending curves around the sides to a fold line parallel to and raised above the front slit and the inner layer (12) has a cutout in its front surface above the front slit of the outer layer. The cutout curves upwardly short of the sides where tags (13) are cut out of the sides of the inner layer and the outer layer overlaps the inner layer at the carton ends. Top and bottom closures are adhesively secured to the outer layer at the ends of the carton.

    摘要: An apparatus for inserting an internal lid (6, 7) in a tubular formed container (1) and for sealed connections of the lid to the inner of the container tube by constant heat welding, high frequency welding or ultrasonic welding and comprising a carrier (8) for holding the container tube (1) while introducing and weld connection the lid (6, 7), a support provided above the carrier (8) for positioning a plane punched out lid blank having a larger outer periphery than the inner periphery of the container tube, a piston means (16) pressing the lid blank into the container tube while folding a narrow edge rim (7) upwards from the lid plane (6) and in which the piston means comprises a lower piston part (18) and an upper piston part (20) which are axially movable in relation to each other and an expandable means (19) between said two piston parts (18, 20) which expandable means is pressed radially outwards when the two piston parts (18, 20) are compressed. The bottom of the lower piston part (18) is formed with a thin press edge (21) having an outwards-downwards sloping surface (24) which at the inner part thereof is directly succeeded by a flute (22). The upper piston part (20) which at the bottom is cup-shaped (25) is axially movable on the lower piston part (18) into and from contact with the expandable means (19). The expandable means preferably is a rubber ring (23) the form of which is changed when the upper piston part and the lower piston part are compressed, whereby the rubber ring is formed with a radially outwards directed pressure line (26) engaging the fold up lid rim (7) adjacent the very lid plane (6). The carrier (8) and the press piston (16) has substantially parallel cylindrical sides, whereby the weld pressure practically solely is provided by the expandable means (19) within area of the means (10) of the carrier for providing welding heat.
