Abstract: A functional structural body that can realize a prolonged life time by suppressing the decrease in function and that can fulfill resource saving without requiring a complicated replacement operation is provided. A functional structural body includes a skeletal body of a porous structure composed of a zeolite-type compound; and at least one solid acid present in the skeletal body, the skeletal body has channels connecting with each other, and the solid acid is present at least in the channels of the skeletal body.

Abstract: There is disclosed a highly crystalline, small crystal, ferrierite zeolite prepared from a gel containing a source of silica, alumina, alkali metal and a combination of two templating agents. The resulting material includes ferrierite crystals having a particle size of about or less than about 200 nm. The desired crystal size can be achieved by using a specific composition of the gel. The purity of the material and the crystal size was determined by using X-ray powder diffraction and scanning electron microscopy. The material has excellent surface area and micropore volume as determined by nitrogen adsorption.

Abstract: The honeycomb catalyst body is equipped with a honeycomb structure body having partition walls that define a plurality of cells extending from a first end face as one of the end faces to a second end face as the other end face and serving as through channels of a fluid. The partition walls each have a base layer containing from 50 to 90 mass % of zeolite and a coat layer with which the surface of the base layer 11 is coated with a thickness of from 1 to 50 μm. The coat layer is either a coat layer (A) containing from 1 to 5 mass % vanadia and titania or a coat layer (B) containing from 1 to 5 mass % vanadia and a composite oxide of titania and tungsten oxide.

Abstract: A honeycomb structure includes at least one honeycomb unit having a longitudinal direction and including zeolite, an inorganic binder, and walls. The zeolite includes a first zeolite ion-exchanged with at least one of Cu, Mn, Ag, and V and a second zeolite ion-exchanged with at least one of Fe, Ti, and Co. Each wall has first and second surfaces which extend along the longitudinal direction and define a thickness of each wall. A ratio of the first zeolite by weight to a total weight of the first and second zeolites at a center of the thickness of each wall is larger than the ratio of the first zeolite at the first or second surface. A ratio of the second zeolite by weight to the total weight at the first or second surface is larger than the ratio of the second zeolite at the center of the thickness of each wall.

Abstract: A process for converting one or more C3-C12 oxygenates comprising: contacting a feed, which feed comprises one or more C3-C12 oxygenates, with hydrogen at a hydrogen partial pressure of more than 1.0 MegaPascal in the presence of a sulphided carbon-carbon coupling catalyst; wherein the carbon-carbon coupling catalyst comprises equal to or more than 60 wt % of a zeolite and in the range from equal to or more than 0.1% wt to equal to or less than 10 wt % of a hydrogenation metal, based on the total weight of the carbon-carbon coupling catalyst; and wherein the zeolite comprises 10-membered and/or 12-membered ring channels and a Silica to Alumina molar Ratio (SAR) in the range from equal to or more than 10 to equal to or less than 300.

Abstract: Disclosed are a catalyst comprising (A) an aluminosilicate molecular sieve comprising a ferrierite phase and (B) a hydrogenation metal component, and a hydroalkylation process using the catalyst. The catalyst and the hydroalkylation process can be used in the production of phenol and/or cyclohexanone from benzene hydroalkylation.
