Abstract: Hydroxypolyamides, hydroxypolyamide products, and post-hydroxypolyamides are disclosed as gel forming agents. Hydroxypolyamides and post-hydroxypolyamides are prepared from known methods. Hydroxypolyamide products are produced from a modified polymerization procedure which utilizes strong base for deprotonation of ammonium salts from the esterification of stoichiometrically equivalent polyacid:polyamine salts. The hydroxypolyamide products are capable of gel formation at lower concentrations than hydroxypolyamides and post-hydroxypolyamides from the known methods of preparation, and are therefore superior gel forming agents.

Abstract: Disclosed is a eutectic mixture containing a first component and a second component as main components. The first component is a quaternary ammonium salt, and the second component is an aminocarboxylic acid and/or a derivative thereof, the aminocarboxylic acid having a —COOH group and an —NH— group in the same molecule. The eutectic mixture has a melting point, Tm, which is lower than the melting point of the first component, T1, and which is lower than the melting point of the second component, T2. The eutectic mixture is in a homogeneous liquid state at a temperature higher than the melting point, Tm. Disclosed is a liquid composition containing a third component dissolving in the eutectic mixture. The third component contains one or two or more selected from cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin.

Abstract: Provided is a crude oil dispersion stabilizer containing a vinyl alcohol-based polymer, wherein a degree of saponification of the vinyl alcohol-based polymer is greater than 70 mol % and 82 mol % or less, and the total content of carboxyl groups and lactone rings is 0.02 to 1 mol % relative to all structural units of the vinyl alcohol-based polymer. According to this, there is provided a crude oil dispersion stabilizer capable of dispersing or emulsifying a highly viscous crude oil, thereby reducing the viscosity and allowing the resulting crude oil dispersion liquid or emulsion to be present stably for a long time.

Abstract: The present invention relates to: a polymer particle in which a urethane resin (A1) and an acrylic polymer (B1) are included in a single particle, said polymer particle having a gel fraction of 10% or more as measured using N,N-dimethylformamide (DMF) as a solvent; a polymer particle in which a urethane resin (A2) having a sulfonic acid group and an acrylic polymer (B2) are included in a single particle, said polymer particle having a surface acid value of 0.1 to 19 mgKOH/g as measured by a potentiometric titration method; and a method for producing a polymer dispersion. According to the present invention, it becomes possible to provide: a polymer dispersion which has excellent polymerization stability and can have an excellent coating viscosity property and excellent storage stability when used in a coating material; a method for producing the polymer dispersion; and a polymer particle contained in the polymer dispersion. It also becomes possible to provide: a coating material which enables the formation of a coating film that can have excellent water resistance and solvent resistance even when the drying conditions include a low temperature and a shorter drying time; and a coated material which has the coating material applied thereon.
