Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for generating a unique ID for a sensor in a network. Once the sensor is installed on a component of the network, the sensor can send attributes of the sensor to a control server of the network. The attributes of the sensor can include at least one unique identifier of the sensor or the host component of the sensor. The control server can determine a hash value using a one-way hash function and a secret key, send the hash value to the sensor, and designate the hash value as a sensor ID of the sensor. In response to receiving the sensor ID, the sensor can incorporate the sensor ID in subsequent communication messages. Other components of the network can verify the validity of the sensor using a hash of the at least one unique identifier of the sensor and the secret key.

Abstract: A computing environment is disclosed that receives from devices requests directed toward services accessible in the environment, and that forwards communications from services in the environment to devices registered with the environment. During a registration process at the environment, devices are assigned a device identifier that is used to identify and authenticate each particular device and requests communicated from and to the device via the environment. The computing environment maintains state information for each device that has been registered with the system. As the device interacts with the system, the state information is updated to reflect the changes in the device. When requests to perform functions are received from devices, the computing environment determines for the particular device and the particular function requested what processing needs to be performed by the environment in response to the request.

Abstract: An example method of determining a state of a key performance indicator (KPI) comprises: receiving one or more entity definitions, wherein each entity definition associates an entity with machine data pertaining to the entity; receiving a service definition for a service provided by one or more entities, the service definition including a reference to a corresponding entity definition of the entity definitions, wherein the service definition includes a respective reference for each of the one or more entities; receiving definitions of one or more KPIs, each KPI defined by a respective search query that produces a value derived from particular machine data, wherein the particular machine data is identified by the service definition, wherein each value is indicative of performance of the service at a point in time or during a period of time; deriving, by performing on the machine data a search query associated with the KPI, one or more KPI values for the KPI; selecting, among a plurality of states of the KPI, a state satisfying a condition applied to the one or more KPI values; and causing display of a visual indicator of the state of the KPI.

Abstract: Systems, methods, computer-readable media, and devices are disclosed for collecting access point telemetry. A first access point is identified that is associated with a single instance on a pod. A hash identifier is identified, where the hash identifier identifies a radio frequency (RF) neighborhood of the first access point based on a geographical location of the first access point. Subsequent access point members of the RF neighborhood are dynamically determined by dynamically assigning a second access point to the RF neighborhood, the dynamic assignment based on the second access point being within a threshold geographical location to the first access point. Telemetry from the second access point is directed towards the single instance on the pod, where the pod receives telemetry for all access points in the dynamically determined RF neighborhood.
