摘要： A particle filled neck brace is used for immobilizing the neck and chin of a patient and includes a vacuum pump disposed on the neck brace, which pump is communicated to the interior of the neck brace. After the neck brace is secured around the neck and chin of the patient, the vacuum pump is manipulated to remove air from the neck brace to form a rigid mold about the patient's neck and chin. The vacuum pump has a one way directional valve so that the neck brace remains in a rigid configuration for as long as the neck brace is applied to the patient. The neck brace also specifically forms a rigid mold over the patient's chin so as to immobilize the patient as well as to provide a comfortable fit without inducing further distracting the patient or restricting the patient's venous return blood flow.

摘要： An orthosis 1 includes: an outer layer 2 which maintains a substantially elliptic shape; and a buffer 3 provided on the inner periphery of the outer layer 2, and buffers predetermined sites on the head. When the orthosis 1 is worn deviating from a state where the minor axis of the substantially elliptic shape corresponds to the width of the head, pressers 24a, 24b are formed which press the predetermined sites on the head with a stronger force than a force before deviation. The outer layer 2 includes adjustment portions 23a and 23b which can be close or apart in the minor axis direction of the substantially elliptic shape. The orthosis 1 further includes an adjuster 4 which adjusts the adjustment portions 23a, 23b so that the length of the minor axis of the substantially elliptic shape can correspond to the width of the head.

摘要： The proposed apparatus and method relate to restorative sports medicine and patient rehabilitation with neurological motoric disorders. A patient is positioned in equilibrium by suspension devices for patient's body parts. The suspension devices are moved by actuating mechanisms with an electro-pneumatic drive and actuating components, controlled by a programmed computer, motivating the patient by controlling an object in a virtual gaming environment, to restore movements when there is an initially minimal or a complete absence of physical activity. The effectiveness is judged according to the reduction of energy consumption of the drives. The apparatus includes a base composed of two parallel guides with movable crossbars, on which the actuating mechanisms are pairwise movably arranged, monitoring and control units, the computer, sensors detecting the state of the actuating mechanisms, and power sources. There are units for analyzing the energy consumption of each drive and for assessing the treatment results.
