Abstract: A wearable device utilizing flexible electronics is disclosed. The wearable device may comprise a flexible matrix material and may include sensors for measuring biometric measurements of an individual, an accelerometer for measuring an acceleration of a body part to which the wearable device is attached, a wireless transmitter, a flexible power source, and a microcontroller. During an activity, the microcontroller may receive signals from the sensors including the biometric measurements, and signals from the accelerometer including acceleration and force measurements associated with the individual. The microcontroller may convert the signals into digital signals and transmit the signals to a computing device for analysis. The computing device may analyze the digital signals to determine a performance metric for the individual. The performance metric may be compared to baseline data for the individual to determine a fatigue level, injury risk, or an adjustment to be made by the individual during the activity.

Abstract: A system and method for machine-learning based atrial fibrillation detection are provided. A database is maintained that is operable to maintain a plurality of ECG features and annotated patterns of the features. At least one server is configured to: train a classifier based on the annotated patterns in the database; receive a representation of an ECG signal recorded by an ambulatory monitor recorder during a plurality of temporal windows; detect a plurality of the ECG features in at least some of the portions of the representation falling within each of the temporal windows; use the trained classifier to identify patterns of the ECG features within one or more of the portions of the ECG signal; for each of the portions, calculate a score indicative of whether the portion of the representation within that ECG signal is associated the patient experiencing atrial fibrillation; and take an action based on the score.

Abstract: Compounds, systems, and methods are provided for the design and assembly of a non-invasive, analyte sensing dressing. The dressing can be therapeutic. The dressing includes a sensor and a matrix. The sensor is capable of detecting analytes such as molecular oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitric oxides, dissolved analytes in plasma, and hydrogen ions. The matrix is at least partially permeable to the analyte. The device emits a detectable signal when the sensor is excited in the presence of the analyte. In one version of the dressing, the sensor includes a meso-unsubstituted metallated porphyrin that is sensitive towards oxygen. The metallated porphyrin can be excited when illuminated at a first wavelength, followed by emission of phosphorescence at a second wavelength whose intensity can be used as an indicator for oxygen concentration.

Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus and methods to deliver audible acoustic sound to the brain through bone conduction and to terminate snoring and sleep apnea. The apparatus comprises a control module and a device that measures signs of the snoring and the sleep apnea and generates the audible acoustic sound to arouse a subject. The device is reversibly attachable to a part of a head overlying a skull of the subject and uses a composite sensor comprising a reflectance pulse oximeter and a vibration sensor for the measurement and an acoustic speaker for generation of the sound. The device drives the acoustic speaker to produce human-conversational sound and non-human sound.

Abstract: An apparatus may be configured for providing feedback to caregivers during a code blue scenario when adhered to the chest of a subject undergoing resuscitation by sensing and transmitting information associated with the code blue scenario. Such information may include one or more of vital signs of the subject during resuscitation, information associated with chest movements of the subject during resuscitation, and audio information from an environment of the subject during resuscitation. One or more processors may generate real-time feedback for communication to the caregivers during the code blue scenario based on the sensed and transmitted information.
