Abstract: A photocurable transparent ink composition for three-dimensional molding includes the following components in parts by weight: 60-125 parts of a photocuring agent, 0.01-5 parts of a yellowing adjusting agent, 0.5-5 parts of a photoinitiator, and 0.5-5 parts of an auxiliary agent, where the yellowing adjusting agent can absorb light in a wavelength range of 560 nm to 650 nm, so that the ink composition appears transparent. The photocurable transparent ink composition for three-dimensional molding can prevent yellowing of a printed article and make the printed article show a whiter, more transparent, and brighter appearance.

Abstract: The present subject matter is directed to methods for manufacturing rotor blades and/or components thereof of a wind turbine. In one embodiment, the method includes forming the rotor blade component and covering at least a portion of the rotor blade component with at least one coating material. In addition, the coating material includes at least one additive having a changeable pigment. After the component is formed, the method includes inspecting the rotor blade component for defects. After inspection, the method further includes activating the additive to change the pigment from a transparent finish to a colored finish.

Abstract: A two-layer mono-axially oriented film includes a first layer of an opaque beta-nucleated microvoided propylene-based polymer; and a second layer containing a dark pigment that is adapted for use in a thermal printer in which the thermal print-head contacts the exposed surface of the first layer. The dark pigment of the second layer pigment has a color contrasting with the color of the first layer and can contain a carbon black. The first layer includes microvoids and may be made transparent upon the application of heat by collapsing the voids of the first layer or upon the application of ultra-sonic energy.

Abstract: A three-dimensional object printer generates image data of an object being formed in the printer with an optical sensor array and identifies the color of an upper surface of the object. The controller compares the identified color to a predetermined range about an expected color for the upper surface and operates ejectors to eject material of a color different than the identified color in response to the identified color being outside of the predetermined range.

Abstract: A process of heat recovering tubing includes forming a multilayer tubing assembly, heating the multilayer tubing assembly to a shrink temperature to form a heat-recovered tubing assembly, and visually inspecting the heat-recovered tubing assembly for a presence of at least one colorant. A multilayer tubing assembly and an adhesive assembly are also disclosed. The multilayer tubing assembly includes an outer tubing of a heat-recoverable material, an inner tubing of a heat-meltable material, a substrate encased by the inner tubing, at least one protrusion encased by the inner tubing, and an adhesive strip including an adhesive composition and the colorant. The outer tubing encases the inner tubing. The adhesive strip is located between the substrate and the protrusion.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention are directed to softening amorphous polymeric materials based on a combination of thiol, acrylate, ene and epoxy monomers. These materials can soften to the modulus of tissue, have a sharp transition and are highly tunable. The materials have a glassy modulus of 1-7 GPa and exhibit a rubbery plateau in modulus that can range from 100 MPa down to as low as 0.03 MPa, which is at or below the modulus of tissue. They have potential uses as materials for near net shape processing such as casting, stereolithography, reaction injection molding, fused deposition molding and various other forms of 3D printing.
