Abstract: A vehicle having park assist includes a plurality of powered closure doors, each door having an actuator for moving the door between closed and open positions, a plurality of sensors located on the vehicle for sensing objects relative to the vehicle and generating sensed signals indicative of the sensed objects, and a transceiver for communicating with a parked vehicle. The vehicle also includes a controller processing the sensed signals, determining a distance and location of the sensed objects relative to the doors, and determining a parking location for the vehicle in a garage where the closure doors are free from contact with an object in the garage when in an open position and are free of contact with powered closure doors on the parked vehicle. An output is provided to assist a driver of the vehicle to park the vehicle in the garage in the determined parking location.

Abstract: Methods and systems for monitoring use and determining risks associated with operation of a vehicle having one or more autonomous operation features are provided. According to certain aspects, operating data may be recorded during operation of the vehicle. This may include information regarding the vehicle, the vehicle environment, use of the autonomous operation features, and/or control decisions made by the features. The control decisions may include actions the feature would have taken to control the vehicle, but which were not taken because a vehicle operator was controlling the relevant aspect of vehicle operation at the time. The operating data may be recorded in a log, which may then be used to determine risk levels associated with vehicle operation based upon risk levels associated with the autonomous operation features. The risk levels may further be used to adjust an insurance policy associated with the vehicle.

Abstract: A vehicle weather damage-prevention system is provided. The system may include a vehicle computing device associated with a vehicle, a covered parking location (CPL) computing device associated with a covered parking location, and an insurance computing device. The vehicle computing device may receive weather data and determine whether the vehicle is affected by inclement weather. The vehicle computing device may receive from the CPL computing device information indicating whether the covered parking location has available parking spots. The vehicle computing device may transmit a request to the CPL computing device to reserve a parking spot. The CPL computing device may selectively permit the vehicle access to the covered parking location. The insurance computing device may monitor the vehicle computing device and/or the CPL computing device and determine if an insurance policy is eligible for insurance-related benefits based upon a usage profile of the vehicle or the covered parking location.

Abstract: A parking lot includes: a plurality of parking spaces arranged in series in a first direction; a camera configured to take a picture of the plurality of parking spaces; and a recognition target provided in each of the plurality of parking spaces. A usage status of each parking space is determined based on a result of recognition of the recognition target by the camera. Each parking space includes a first parking space line and a second parking space line. The first parking space line is located closer to the camera than the second parking space line is in the first direction. The recognition target is arranged to be decentered from a center line between the first parking space line and the second parking space line toward a region on a side of the second parking space line.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for parking lot metering. The present invention allows multi-space meters to separately manage and control premium parking spaces, such as those for charging electric vehicles or those which supply electric power for engine block heaters in both pay-by-space and pay-an-display systems. Such premium spaces can be managed together over large areas (e.g., a city or region), or may be managed over smaller areas (e.g., the domain of an individual kiosk), or individually per parking space. Management includes pricing, time limits, hours, seasons of operation, and restrictions by vehicle type, and alternative pricing and restrictions for non-premium hours.

Abstract: A parking assist system for a vehicle includes a processor and a memory communicably coupled to the processor. The memory stores instructions that when executed by the processor cause the processor to detect a parking space for a vehicle. The instructions further cause the processor to identify one or more parking parameters related to parking the vehicle in the parking space. The parking parameters include a point-of-interest associated with the parking space. The instructions further cause the processor to determine a suitability of the parking space based on the one or more parking parameters. Determining the suitability of the parking space includes predicting a point-of-interest-related action to be performed by an occupant after parking the vehicle in the parking space.

Abstract: Methods and systems for communicating between autonomous vehicles are described herein. Such communication may be performed for signaling, collision avoidance, path coordination, and/or autonomous control. A computing device may receive data for the same road segment from autonomous vehicles, including (i) an indication of a location within the road segment, and (ii) an indication of a condition of the road segment. The computing device may generate, from the data for the same road segment, an overall indication of the condition of the road segment, which may include a recommendation to vehicles approaching the road segment. Additionally, the computing device may receive a request from a computing device within a vehicle approaching the road segment to display vehicle data. The overall indication for the road segment may then be displayed on a user interface of the computing device.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method for supporting a parking process in a road section, wherein respective speeds of reference vehicles in the road section are received by a vehicle-external central computer, a statistical value for the road section is created from the respective speeds by the vehicle-external central computer, a speed of a motor vehicle while driving along the route section is detected by a driver assistance device of the motor vehicle, the detected speed is compared with the statistical value for the road section according to a predetermined comparison method, and a query signal for supporting a parking process is output by the driver assistance device to a driver of the motor vehicle by means of an output apparatus if the detected speed of the motor vehicle fulfills a predetermined criterion in respect of the statistical value while the motor vehicle is driving along the road section.

Abstract: A power management system includes a plurality of power adjustment resources electrically connected to a microgrid. The plurality of power adjustment resources include a plurality of EVSEs, each of EVSEs including a parking space. When any one of a plurality of power feeding vehicles is parked in the parking space, an EVSE enables power feeding from a vehicle parked in the parking space to the microgrid. A CEMS server manages the parking space. When a balance of power supply and demand in the microgrid is in an overdemand state, the CEMS server allocates the parking space to a power feeding vehicle that responds to a request for power feeding to the microgrid, of the plurality of power feeding vehicles.
